back from my interview!
Thanks mcd and kass for your words of encouragement yesterday! I appreciate it.
I think my interview yesterday went pretty well, but I'm still recovering. I was interviewing from 8am to 8:30pm, and I was so nervous I could only sleep 5 hours the night before. We're driving to VT for the weekend in a few hours, so once we're there I can relax.
And now I have to wait to hear back. I'm the first of 3 interviews, so I'll probably have a little while to wait.

Glad to hear it went well. Geez, that is a long-ass interview! Interviews that only last an hour are draining and stressful, so props to you for getting through that gauntlet!
Fingers crossed for you. And you weekend away sounds like the perfect way to recover! Enjoy.
Wow, long interview ! Did they send you to several people to interview with or was that entire time with 1 person?

here was my schedule from yesterday:
8am: breakfast with dept chair and tour
9:30-11:30 half hour meetings/interviews with biochemistry faculty
12-1: seminar on my research for the entire department and all interested students (which was about 50-60 people, much more than I expected)
1:15-2:45: more faculty meetings/interviews
3-3:30: meeting/interview with dean of faculty
3:45-4:15: tea with students
4:15-5:45: meetings/interviews with faculty
6-8 dinner with the search committee
So it was essentially like they were interviewing a faculty candidate. The position is technically a lecturer/adjunct faculty member and research assistant.
The weirdest bit was trying to get used to the fact that I was supposed to be on the same level as faculty members. I still feel like I'm more similar to the students than to the faculty.
