My grandma sent me a letter yesterday, and in it she mentioned how she forgot to tell me something special on my wedding day. She said that her parents were married on October 31st, 1910, exactly one hundred years minus a day that Matt and I were married (October 30th, 2010). How cool!
Did any of you accidentally or intentionally get married on a relative's anniversary?

Re: Fun little factoid
That's cool.
We got married on our own dating anniversary, but as far as I know, that's it

That's very cool.
Nothing special for us. We picked it because it wouldn't be hot and the venue was available.

TTC Since January 2011 - We have bad spermWe got married on our 3rd dating anniversary, 10-10-10.
Other than that... my grandparents got married in October as well (either the 18th or the 19th, they could never agree on the actual date that they got married on! LOL)
How cool Aye-vah! ;-P
No significance in our families that I know of for us, but what a cool story to share with your future children & grandchildren.

LOL thanks for that. (though, it's "ay" like in May, not "aye" like a pirate would say).
I wondered this, but couldn't figure out a nice way to ask. Now I will smile every time I see your name, because my granddaughter's name is the same, except she spells it "Ava". Here's a picture of her, just so I can brag:
She's pretty and loves her baubles, just like you!
Awww, she's a sweety!
Ha! Touche' my friend
I guess I was just thinking "aye" since you are a Canuck LOL

Hey now, only the east-coast Canucks say "aye" like pirates (Irish/Scottish immigrant ancestors responsible for that one). The rest of us say "eh". (like ay in in May).
I really appreciate you taking an interest in this stuff, though, eh?
Mike and I were 70 years and 7 days after Mikes grandparents about 500 yards from where they were married.
Hopefully that makes sense....

I didn't realize we got married on my cousin's birthday (but to be fair, the day we ended up with was actually our third choice)...
BUT... we did choose the venue because my maternal grandparents got married there in 1950. And I know they were there that day!
No anniversaries for us, but we did get married on John Lennon's birthday and had no idea. Weird little coincidence... I DIY-ed our cocktail napkins with stamps I bought just because I thought they were cute, one of which said 'all you need is love.' It wasn't until after the wedding when we were reading our guest book that we noticed people refer to it and write how cool it was to incorporate that in our wedding lol.
