reputable place to buy used electronics?
Our laptop is on it's last leg. The battery is shot, the mousepad doesn't work, keys stick, it's a hot mess. I am thinking about getting a netbook, which isn't expensive, but I'd buy used if it's in good condition. I don't even know where to start... any ideas?

Re: reputable place to buy used electronics?
.
The one JJ and I were looking at is $350. It's a little bit bigger and has more memory than like, the 7" ones for just internet. He wants to just get a regular laptop since you can get a decent one for $500, used would maybe bring it down to a new netbook price.
I'm hesitant to buy off ebay... I'm looking more for a Jax establishment.
No, I will definitely do that.
This thread is weird to me. lol
You won't buy off of ebay, but you want to buy a used computer?
Are you a member at BJs or Sam's or Costco? They actually have great deals on laptops. Maybe you could find a new one within your price range there.
Ditto CD on at least getting a refurbished computer/laptop/netbook directly from the manufacturer.
Also maybe go to CompUSA. They have new computers and I think they also make them from used parts? I'm not sure, but it might be an option.
I guess I rephrased it wrong, I would buy a factory refurbished one, not a random used one from someone I don't know.
Best Buy's policy on 'factory refurbished' is people have to return it within the return policy, and then it's sent to the manufacturer where it's restored to new settings. Then they will resell it, so it's like buying an open boxed item.
That's what I'm looking for... something I can get a warranty on, that was possibly previously owned, but back to original settings and such. I don't know how to permanently delete someone's old hard drive or whatever, so I don't want to take the chance of buying a computer off someone that could have spyware or a virus, etc.
