BR: Rec your swing/bouncer/place to put baby so you can shower...
So one of the items we didn't get from our baby shower was a swing or bouncer or something of the sort so we can set Alex down in something while doing something else. I'd like to get him a swing because he really likes that motion but that won't fit in our bathroom I don't think. I'm basically brain dead right now, I keep starting to look on target and babiesrus to get ideas and read reviews and then it's feeding time or just in general Alex time. Please help! Thanks ladies!

Im not sure which one LO will like yet since shes not here but as far as swings go we got the FP Snug a bunny swing, its the newwest one from FP. Its the same as the little lamb swing but it plugs in. Everyone I know who has the little lamb loves its. As far as bouncers we just went with a bright starts one. I figured when I am in the kitchen and living room doing stuff she can be in the swing and when I need to shower I can put her in the bouncer on the bathroom floor.
They do make bouncer/swing combos but I didn't like any of them.
The people who we baby sit for have something very close to this one:

I like it a lot. It isn't the smallest thing ever, but it is easy to use and makes a very gentle gliding motion (which is completely different than the swings I remember my sister and cousins having as babies). It is also compatible with very young newborns, so it may be a good option for Alex.

This one is a slightly smaller version if you're looking for something inside the bathroom.

This is the one we registered for and didn't receive. When we went to BabysRUs to get our travel system we saw the bunny one that Sara was talking about which is basically the same exact thing except like she said it plugs in so we don't have to buy batteries.
I also really like the second one you posted that is the two in one. I'll have to show it to Joel and see what he thinks. Thanks so much for find these for me!

We got the bumbo chair at our baby shower, so we do have that for when he's big enough and sitting up but since that's going to be a while for our little guy we're going to need to something else to use in the meantime.
I hope your cold gets better soon! And soon enough your little one will be in your arms and you'll forget all the random aches and pains of pregnancy came with pregnancy as soon as you see your little one's face for the first time. I think he is why I'm not taking pain meds post c-section other than ibuprofen for the swelling. Alex has been the best healing medicine

He loved them both and the bouncer was nice since I could easily bring it in the bathroom with me while I showered.
My friend's baby loves this. it doesn't have a lot of motion but it rocks a little and it's easy to fit in smaller spaces.
rocking sleeper
Ooo that's a good one too! Thanks!
I own this and this is the most amazing baby item ever marketed. It weighs next to nothing, folds away to storage and Nate LOVES sleeping in it AND hanging out in it when I take a shower. I can easily drag it across the floor or carry him downstairs with it. Also I recommend the Fisher price space saver swingseat which is inexpensive and great for small spaces: http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Precious-Planet-Space-Saver/dp/B0033RIE28
I agree on the bouncer swing combo- obviously little baby isnt here yet, but I registered for these:

I like the swing because it plugs in and we went and played with a million of the bouncy seats and this is the one I liked the best.
We also got the FP Snug-a-Bunny. It is too big for a bathroom but perfect for a Family Room.
We also got the FP Precious Planet bouncy chair. That's nice and compact for a bathroom and we can travel with it.
My friend swears by the FP Rock n' Play. It doesn't rock on its own, but her baby really likes napping it. Something about the sling shape of the seat and the way it is angled just seems to work really well.
Good point Kari! Our swing is plug in and it is so nice to not have to worry about batteries. The one at work is battery powered and I felt like I had to change them a lot and he wasn't in it tons (however the little guy I nanny for did like to turn it on).
The FP Rock n' Play sleeper is everything you could ever want it to be, and more. It's portable, and we use it every day, and she doesn't even have to sleep in it anymore!
We have the FP Infant to Toddler rocker which I really like for the shower because it gives Sami something to do while she can't see me, and if you so choose, it vibrates to boot! I'm also a fan of items that will last her beyond her first year...
We bought the Graco swing that matched our travel system and pack n' play. Not very portable, but Sami loved it all the same.
My favorite by far is the FP Jumperoo we bought Sami once she could support herself enough to use it. Dear gods, does she love that thing!

I am yet another fan of the FP Rock N Play sleeper. We used it for nighttime sleeping until he was 3 months and I am not sure what we would have done without it because he would not sleep on his back. I also used it for him to sit in while I showered the first few months.
Once he got a little bigger we got a newborn to toddler vibrating rocker(http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Newborn-To-Toddler-Portable-Rocker-Lizards/dp/B002OOWAB2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1299416126&sr=8-2) which we still use while getting ready in the morning. He loves it because it was cozy when he was littler and now has things for him to play with and he loves the vibrating. He likes that chair way more than the bouncer chair that we have for him and really never used.
We have the Little Lamby swing and he loved that as well. Now they have the Snuggabunny which is basically the same but plugs in, which is awesome.
