mommy of the year award right here...

ugh...

We have folding chairs that we use in our "dining room" because our house is so tiny we don't have room for 4 real chairs and the boys use the real chairs for their booster seats... anyway, the boys were sitting on the folding chairs (which they do all the time) and coloring.. while I was in the kitchen about 4 feet away, making their dinner... when all of a sudden, Keaghan slipped while trying to get down and landed face first and split open his lip.. he started to cry and at first I didn't think of it because they tumble and fuss all the time but he was pointing to his mouth and of course bleeding everywhere... at first I thought of his teeth and immediately checked them... but they were OK, called Josh because he wasn't home with me, no answer so I called MIL and she said she would come over to help me get K calmed down and to keep an eye on Jack.... and then called the ped to get their opinion.... the whole time K is screaming and squirming and we went through 3 paper towels and an ice pack before MIL got there and we finally got him to sit still and get the bleeding to stop..

ugh I feel so bad for him, and feel bad for letting them sit in those chairs, even though they have sat in them forever... ugh...

  • Helen has split her lip falling off the sofa.  She also cut her chin recently falling on my laptop computer.  Kids are talented at finding ways to injure themselves.  It it wasn't the chair, he would have found another way to do it!

Caroline took 2 diggers this week and had knots on her head. Luckily, she's a quick healer and only cried for a minute. Me on the other hand went into the bedroom and cried LMAO

  • poor dude!  I think it'll be fine.  they definitely find a way to beat themselves up!

  • Don't beat yourself up -- if they don't knock themselves around one way, it's another.  That's just what happens when you're a kid learning to negotiate your physical space.  Poor K...and poor you!  Probably more scary for you than him, really.
