Help me buy a swimsuit

I bought a bikini from Victoria's Secret 6 years ago and it's the only bikini of theirs that I've ever seen and liked (am I the only one who hates their fabric choices?). This would be all fine and dandy but 6 years ago I could get away with an XS string bikini bottom and I thought my boobs were a cup-size smaller... and now... not so much on either front.

I need a swimsuit by May and I need help. It needs to have an underwire (non-negotiable) and it needs to not be fugly.

Will someone please take pity on my sorry self and help me out with some recommendations of stores or suggested suits or websites or special potions to give me back my 20 year old body? Where do YOU get your swimsuits?

Thanks in advance :)

Re: Help me buy a swimsuit

  • I really like Newport News for swimsuits. They have good prices and have some good designs & have things like underwire.
  • I've heard good things about Old Navy's swimsuits. I got a really cute one at Target a couple of years ago. I am very busty (34 DDD) and the shelf bra inside doesn't do too bad of a job. All of the swimsuits I found online with an underwire were in the $100 range. There's also miracle suits that Victoria's Secret sells but they're also in the $100 range. Good luck!

  • JCrew..hands down.  It's where I've every suit I've ever owned since I was about 16.  I love all the mix and match solid colors and styles.  They are a bit pricier but well worth the quality.  They last forever and fit really well too.  I just looked and they have tons of cute underwire tops this year.  Good luck and let us know when you find something!

Scroll down to the bottom and there's a category with all the underwire styles.

  • modcloth. It's where I bought the one I wore last summer.

  • I don't wear swimsuits often, but the two I've got right now were bought before our Maui trip four years ago. I got both at Macy's. They're not super fancy - just fun, Hawaiian print swim suits.

You didn't really say what you like/didn't like other than an underwire, so I'm not totally sure what your taste/style is. But here are a couple I thought were cute:

  • If I remember correctly (though to be honest I was not staring at your tatas so I could be remembering badly)...you are well endowed too...

I special order mine from the UK through: http://www.bravissimo.com/default.aspx

I think I already set it to show $ not pounds, but you can just click the little american flag if that didn't work.  Their selection is small right now since it is the off season, but keep checking and you will be shocked at the amazing suits they show.  I am completely addicted to my swimwear from them...their built in bras do not let you down (ba-dum-dum-cha, sorry I crack myself up).  One word of warning, make sure you are sure of your bra size when you order, check at Nordy's because they can tell you your UK size.  Oh and...if you don't like to show off cleavage you are gonna have a hard time since their bra tops are SO good your boobs will be front and center (not overly surprising info though when you have big girls).
