XP: Moving companies in GR?
Hi ladies!
H and I are moving from GR to Holland at the end of
March. We're very seriously considering hiring movers to load our stuff
on a truck, and unload it at the new place. Does anyone have any
recommendations for a good company in GR? I got a quote from Two Men And
A Truck for $950, which seems astronomical, and I'm looking to spend
less than that.
Thanks!
Re: XP: Moving companies in GR?
Try Angie's List for a review.
I think Two Men and a Truck tend to charge more, because it is a name that people know so they call first. When they moved my SIL, they dropped her bookshelfand broke it. I give her credit because she took them to small claims court and won because they didn't have her sign the waiver.
One thing you could do to cut cost down is get a quote for the big stuff and you move the rest.
Thanks!
What was weird about the quote at Two Men is that he told me moving trucks are regulated by the state and they are required to charge by the weight of the truck. Then he took a random guess how much our stuff weighs, and gave me that number. I called Allied Moving, and they are sending someone out to look at our stuff and do the quote from there.
