How do you eat corn on the cob? [clicky]

someecards.com posted a pic today about how eating corn on the cob shows your personality. (Side to side - organized, up and down - creative, "in and out" - slut.) Rodgers eats side to side, but I go up and down. His is much neater, but I don't know, I like my way of eating it. So how do you eat it?[Poll]

  • That's pretty funny. Aaron eats it side to side but is anything but organized. I picked up and down but I usually cut it off the cob so it doesnt get stuck in my teeth.

  • Many, many years ago, my dad taught me to take one bite, then expand out from there, one row at a time. No kernels in the teeth that way, and no residue left on the cob. I've eaten it that way ever since. I suppose I should've chosen SS rather than side to side.

Wait, so you eat it in like an expanding circle?  I think I understand your method, but I'm still confused.

And I eat side to side, usually one or two rows at a time after the first row's worth of bites.  I'm way to type-a not to eat it in an organized fashion.

That's funny. Rodgers is way less organized than me, but very OCD about certain things.

  • This would be easier in person... I eat one bite. Then, using my bottom teeth, I pry up the next row of kernels at the bottom edge of the bite, going a little out to either side. Then the next row, going out a little farther so it's forming kind of a pyramid. Or triangle, really. I turn the cob upwards, row by row, revisiting the partly eaten rows as they come around.
  • I start on the left end - take one bite then go down, take a bit then go down again until I've gone all the way around the cob, the " move over " one spot and start over.

I'm kinda OCD - I don't like any random kernels left.

  • I eat side to side, but I don't eat the kernels too close to either end. I usually leave two or three up and down rows on each end.
  • This is a fun poll. I never thought about how I eat it until now. I go side to side but not in an organized fashion. Now I want some :). I'm glad we just bought some the other day.

This is me.  Ever since I had braces and had to cut it off, I only like to eat it that way.
