Hey ladies! Sorry it's been a while! With last week's vacation I totally slacked on posting. So what's new, ladies??
After my behavior over the vacation (no excercising and eating anything and everything) I decided to start calorie counting again to get back on track. Also, I ran 3 days in a row which is super since I have a 5K this weekend and hadn't run in at least 2 weeks. I lost 4 pounds this week (I bet most of which was water weight and post-period bloat) but just felt good to see and kind of get me psyched about jumping back on the wagon. I am really looking forward to a bit milder weather (um, yeah, when is that?) to keep this going.
This week's meals were chicken and black bean quesadillas on wheat tortillas, turkey and brown rice mini-meatloaves with green beans and roasted potatoes, wheat spaghetti with a ground turkey and veggie sauce and salad, and ground turkey and veggie stirfry over wheat spaghetti and low fat veggie egg rolls. (I had a 3 pound pkg of ground turkey so many meals included that!) I ate fruits and veggies and yogurts for snacks. It was a good week food and exercise-wise. Really hope to keep this going! Any good eats this week?
Re: Fit Chicks
Good for you!! That's awesome esp. about the running!
I had a bad week fitness-wise. Ugh. Pardon the tiny whine/vent to follow. My sister is in town for her spring break, so I want to see her as much as I can - which is great - and it was my mother's birthday on Wednesday, and then yesterday they wanted to do dinner with the whole family, so I'm having a great time BUT I've ended up canceling every workout since Sunday (when I ran 6 miles - woot!!). I have plans after work tonight and all day tomorrow so I won't be able to run till Sunday!
So basically I missed a whole week of exercise and that week included a birthday with a really delicious cake. Sigh. I can't go to the gym before work without my dog flipping out and waking up the whole bldg, and the sidewalks are completely gone till who knows when so there's no running outside at the moment. Argh! Oh well.
I know it's not the end of the world but it's definitely a setback and I feel fluffy and heavy, quite unpleasant! But next week is a new week. And I've done mostly okay food-wise, with the exception of that cake!
I have been on-track exercise-wise, with the exception of last Friday because of the snow and a bad cold. I will make that up tomorrow. So I feel totally committed there.
Food has been pretty good this week with the exception of Wednesday, when DH and I hit Gritty's for their restaurant week menu. For lunches I have had WW baked potato soup and for dinners I have had some leftovers and Make Thyme for Dinner meals. I did well enough that I don't need to feel too bad about the pizza, cake and ice cream that I will be eating on Sunday at a birthday party!
The weight loss has been slow...still only 10 pounds (over two months), but I feel OK about that since I haven't felt deprived and I want to do this in a sustainable way. I can still make my goal by August!

I've been back to dieting after a slump from the holidays 3 weeks ago. Been doing good with the cardio etc. but am contemplating a break tonight since my foot was bothering me this morning. Ugh. Going to do arms and abs today though.
I did a dvd on Tuesday night and went to the gym on Wednesday night. Tomorrow is bodypump!
Foodwise, ehhh... I think I did ok- not great. Depends on the hour really
I haven't worked out in weeks. DH and I have been taking turns being sick. Then he was away for a week. Since he's my workout buddy, I use that as an excuse not to work out when he's gone.
Hoping to get back into the routine on Monday and maybe at least get a few nice long walks or some snowshoeing in this weekend.
Eating has actually been pretty good for me this week. I made some healthy whole wheat muffins and some homemade LARA bars last weekend. Those have been my snacks this week, so I'm not tempted to buy candy and other crap during work. Also bought a bunch of fruit and hummus and some veggies so I have that stuff to snack on too. Seems to be helping. Not having enough healthy snacks around is where I've failed in the past.
I did go out to happy hour last night to On the Boarder, and had a margaritta and quesadillas. Other than that though, I've been pretty good all week about what I eat/drink.
I'm down 8.5 lbs since January - slow going, but at least it's going. I've been good about eating and tracking (except for splurging last night at book club!). I haven't been exercising as much this week because my knees are really bothering me. The Jillian Michaels really seem to be too high impact for my knees right now; I'm trying to balance it with pilates videos but they have a lot of squatting which does't work when I'm hurting. So I rested them a bit this week and tried to eat under my budget to make up for it, and it seems like it was okay because I was down a couple this week.
For meals we had a chicken lasagna from Cooking Light which was really yummy and rich but only 260 calories a serving. We had that for leftovers a couple nights; garlic tilapia, green beans, and rice pilaf, and then we had pizza one night - I made this cauliflower crust for mine which actually was really yummy and only 450 calories for the whole pizza : http://stuffimakemyhusband.blogspot.com/2010/11/cauliflower-pizza.html
Well, the past few days have been bad because we have had visitors yet again (and more next weekend!) However, I started 30 Day Shred on Feb. 23 and did it every day until this past Friday because of our visitors. I have actually been feeling pretty crappy since then, so I think I'm going to wait until tomorrow to get back into it, but I'm excited to start again because I really feel like I was starting to see some changes. My biggest issue with it is how hard it is on my knees - I have knee problems to begin with, so it might not be the smartest plan for me, but I'm addicted to how short the workout is and how good I feel afterward!
I plan to get back on track tomorrow after grocery shopping - generally a plain Greek yogurt with Kashi and honey for breakfast, a sandwich on whole wheat 100-calorie sandwich thins and fruit for lunch and then some kind of Cooking Light dinner. I also have some avocados that I need to turn into guacamole soon, so that will be a delicious, but healthy snack.
