Hello Hawaii!

I've never posted on this board before, and I have been to Hawaii once (2008 family reunion), and I don't remember this being here at all! Anyhow, I did post this on Travel board, so this may be a duplicate to some of you...

I've got some friends looking to potentially elope to Hawaii in August. They want a small, simple ceremony (I think) on possibly Oahu??? I need some ideas for places to stay and things to do that are on the cheap for a shoestring, budget friendly mini-moon/DW, with a handful of guests (I'm guessing no more than 5-10).

Thoughts? Ideas?

Condos, hotels, activities, restaurants, parks, etc. thoughts and ideas accepted here! Especially from a local Hawaiian perspective

As always THANKS!

Re: Hello Hawaii!

  • Congratulations to your friend!  Hawaii is an amazing place for a wedding.  Smile

We found affordable accommodations by looking on VRBO, but tell your friend to be careful and do a bit of research to check out the area, whether the rental is legal or not, etc.  My rental was legit but I've heard of people getting screwed over by owners.

We had a picnic the day after our wedding at a park (sorry, I forget the name!) and that was definitely budget friendly because MIL bought all the food from Costco.

Have you posted on The Knot as well?  GL!  Big Smile
