Costco Food Rec

I am sorry for always recommending things, I just occasionally stumbled upon things that I wish I knew about earlier, and figured someone else might enjoy them as well.  anyway, lately I have been trying to eat better, so I have decided my go-to lunch is going to be these CedarLane Veggie Burritos from Costco.  They taste great, are good for you, and SO quick and easy.

Each burrito is 260 calories (good sized, very filling), 1 gram fat, 7 grams fiber, 13 grams of protein, so a pretty complete meal.  They are also organic for those who might care.  You just heat them in the microwave for 2 mins and I top mine w/ lettuce and salsa- great for busy moms and super portable for those who take their lunch to work.  They come out to be a little over $1 each, and I'm sure I *could* make them cheaper on my own and freeze them, but that would eliminate the ease factor.

I always eat mine w/ a side salad, for a few extra veggies and filling fiber.  The lettuce I use is also from Costco - the boston premium kind that is back in the cooler section. you get 2 big, beautiful heads of green leafy lettuce for $2.99.  Definitely my favorite lettuce variety.

The burritos might be available elsewhere? I've never really looked. I don't think you can get the lettuce at regular grocery stores, or at least not the ones I shop at.

  • I just bought these last weekend!  I really like them, too.  DH said he's seen them at Hy-Vee, but I'm not sure if they're the same brand or not.

I don't eat meat (DH does), but we both love the Don Lee Farms Veggie Patties they sell - have you tried those?  YUM.
