Organized Garage

So we just finished organizing our garage.  We transferred all of our stuff from cardboard boxes to plastic.

Take a look at the difference (link in siggy):

Re: Organized Garage

  • Wow it looks great!  Ironically, we are tackling the same thing this weekend hopefully it turns out as good!

  • Thanks!  There is something therapeutic about it.  I actually got excited with every box I threw away.  Hope you feel the same way.
  • It looks great but I have to comment on number 5 on your list.

While I know several people who have encased their water heaters in peg board or other materials, it's not a good idea. It needs air circulation and enclosing it is a huge fire hazard.

When we bought our house (also in CA), the water heater was basically in a cabinet. Our home inspector said we had to remove it within a certain number of days of owning the home.

  • I cannot wait for spring to hit so we can go to town on the garage.  It seems like every spring we clean it out and organize but over the winter things just get tossed around everywhere and we do it all over again.
