F/u to breastfeeding woes

We had Grier's pedi appt on Friday. She's just shy of 2 weeks old and is almost back to her birth weight. She gained 9oz since her weight check a week ago. Our pedi is awesome and listened to all of my concerns about her nursing. He reassured me that it was normal newborn behavior (you nesties were right again! ;)) and that I was doing something right because she's gaining weight. We've figured out that she's difficult to burp, so I think that was part of the problem, too. The last 2-3 days have been better and I was actually able to pump yesterday so I could get out of the house. Reese and I took a much needed shopping trip to get her big girl undies. Her and I both needed the time together! We have to go to the hospital on Monday for Grier's 2 week bloodwork, so I'm going to meet with a lc, just to make sure I'm doing everything right! Thank you for all of your kind words and encouragement! (sorry for no paragraphs-I'm on my phone!)

Re: F/u to breastfeeding woes

  • So glad that things are looking up! Nothing makes you appreciate how easy a 2 yr old is like a newborn, huh?  I used to just crave time alone w/ Gretta b/c she was so easy and predictable. At least she could tell me what was wrong and how to fix it.  :)

  • I am glad it is getting better for you. As if taking care of a new baby isn't hard enough, worrying about them eating is the worst. I did that all the time with Jackson. Good Luck!
  • Glad things seem to be getting better and that you got to enjoy some time with you big girl :)

  • That's wonderful news! And, I'm glad you and Reece were able to get out and enjoy some time together.
