Squeee!!!

I just had to do a happy dance because I finally was able to save up for a new camera and lens, and had my first official test shoot with a close friend.

  • Thanks everyone!

I got a Nikon D7000 with a Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 lens. Noticeable in the 2nd image is the fact that the lens flair is far more retained while still maintaining the foggy glow. My old lens would get so many actual flares that it would ruin photos and it was difficult to avoid. I like the last one because of the detail that is retained even though it's direct lighting. The balance between shadows and sun spots is fantastic. :DD

  • Awesome pics!  I'm saving up for a new lens.  Can't decide if I want the Tamron 17-50 mm or the 28-75 mm.

  • what camera did you have before the d7000?

i was torn between the 7000 and 90 and opted for the 90..

  • I chose the 17-50 since it's wider, and I didn't have a wide lens yet.

I upgraded from a D70. I still have my D70 as a backup camera, with my Sigma lens (which works great, but it isn't a standard zoom). My biggest issue with the D70 was it's white balance problems. That and it was old, and I had to already replace both the shutter motor and the card reader. I wanted a new camera that was newer, fresher, and therefore more reliable for awhile.
