Probably a dumb baby shower question

Where would you suggest to have one?  My mom will probably be throwing me two showers (I don't know why, I told her I didn't need two.)  One close to where I grew up with all those family and friends, and one here in Tampa.  They will both probably be in May.

My sister, who lives in North Port, is supposed to be assisting my my mom with ideas suggested her house (because that is free to her), but when my mom told her that NP is too far a drive for the guests that live in Tampa, so clammed up and is now "Too busy" to help with anything else.

I suggested a pavilion at Ft. DeSoto Park.  I don't know how long the reservation is for, but $50 gets a covered shelter, with electric and water view and St.Pete is right in the middle of Sarasota (where my dad's family lives) and Tampa (where most of the guests live.)  So far, I haven't heard anything about having the shower there, I think my mom wanted to do it indoors somewhere, but I'm not sure.  I would love to be outdoors and close to the water, as long as it is not too terribly hot/humid/no-air-moving-at-all out.

But do you guys have any ideas?  St. Pete and Tampa are preferable areas.  My apartment doesn't have a clubhouse, so that's a no.  But I haven't been to any showers of any sort out since I moved here 6 years ago.

Ahahahahahahaha!  I remember how I felt in May at 7 months with just one baby.  You may want to re-think the outdoors, no a/c thing.  Also, May is never not hot/humid out, right?

  •  I would skip the outdoor shower idea in May...sounds like it would be too hot and way too humid!

And you might want to plan them earlier than you would normally do a baby shower since you are having twins.  Not saying you are going to deliver early but you never know what kind of limitations they will put on you towards the end.  I was in the hospital the night before my shower and had to go back right after my shower was over:(  That was at 29 weeks with no complications before that.  So the sooner the better when carrying multiples!

  • Check and check.  And Delta, I will talk to my mom about possibly moving it up.
