Good Morning!

Happy Monday?  Yeah, not so much.  I'm exhausted today.  Derek and I were up late on Saturday playing Xbox Kinect with first my step-sister, her BF and my step-brother and then just each other when they left.  So much fun.  But yeah, tired today!

As some of you saw on FB we got our couch and chairs on Saturday morning.  They delivered the wrong accent chair (totally different fabric) AND left a huge scratch in our beautiful new floor.  Derek was rather upset and plans on replacing the affected boards.  I'm not sure if I should make a stink with the company about it, maybe it's too late?

Anywho, I'll be away on training Tues, Wed, Thurs, so someone else will have to start the day off.

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: Good Morning!

  • Raynes hope your week gets better!

I am not having a good morning either. The home daycare Preston is in crushed me this morning. She is not going to be keeping school aged kids this summer so I have no where for Jordan to go. I don't want Jordan and Preston in two different daycares, but she is so good with Preston. Jordan was really excited about staying this summer since she lives out in the country and has a swimming pool. I don't fee like its fair to allow Preston to stay and make Jordan go somewhere else. The closest real daycare is 20 miles from my house and I work 4 miles from my house. Its going to be a pain if i have to drive an extra 40 miles a day. Plus when Jordan is in school his school is about 2 miles from my work. I am so aggravated and its times like this I hate living in a small town.

Just to top things off we hired a painter to come paint our living room, hallway, and kitchen. He was suppose to be there at 7 this morning and its 8 and still no show. Good thing we didn't pay him anything.

Sorry for my rant this morning.

  • Well, we have another snow day (ice day really where we are) today...blah.  I am so sick of bad weather and am just abandoning all attempts at trying to teach everything I need to this year.  We haven't had a full week of school since mid-December.  On the bright side, I'll have time to get in my four mile run (on the treadmill since I'd need ice skates for the sidewalks) and get my guest room painted.

Our weekend was good...I primed both our guest room and the office and we made a list of all the little projects that need to be completed before we list our house for sale at the beginning of May.  The list is a bit overwhelming, but we are just going to plug away at it.  I even hooked my best friend into coming down in a couple of weeks to help me tackle and stage our closets (she is the queen of organizing...).  It feels good to at least be taking some steps forward right now.

  • Hello ladies.  That sucks about the couch and floor raynes.  I'd be ticked off too, but I'm too passive to kick up a stink.  I think my DH would though.

We had a good weekend.  I had another driving lesson on Saturday, and I'm so ready to be done with this.  I feel like I'm an overall decent driver, and having somebody constantly point out every little fault is rather frustrating and exhausting.  Their use of the parking brake here while driving is excessive (in my books) and I just can't get into the habit of using it every.single.time I stop.

Anyways, other than that, we were productive around the house, and went out for a fabulous steak dinner.  Mine was overcooked at first, and steak is something I'm not shy about returning!  The replacement was very yummy.

I went to pilates yesterday and I'm feeling it today, which I guess means that it was a good class!  I'm hoping to do another quick workout today to keep momentum going, since I slacked off last week.

  • Morning ladies.

My weekend went by way to quick.  Saturday night DH and I went out with some friends, which was well overdue.

Yesterday, we had lunch with all of DH's family, and then went to my dad's to celebrate my gram's birthday.  Needless to say we had 2 very fussy babies, by the time it was all said and done.

On the bright side, I just found out a friend of mine is adopting twin girls.  I am hoping that the birth mother follows through when this is all said and done.  The girls are expected in July, so it will probably be June when they get here.

  • Yikes on the scratched floor. Part of me says you should make a stink about it, but I also know what you mean when you say it might be too late.

Weekend was okay. On Friday I got some bad work news that led to a few too many beers that night. I'm still so mad that I needed a mental health day today. I did have a great time with Josh before he left for his conference, though. He can always make me laugh.

Yesterday I got a ton of writing and cleaning done after he left. And then I found out that Paul Simon is going to be in D.C. on my birthday and I was all giddy.

Today I'm taking it easy, going for a 7-miler, and maybe doing some laundry.

  • raynes - I'd probably call, only for the fact that the floor is brand spanking new.... if hadn't been put in a few weeks ago I'd let it go, but thats a little ridic.

crystal - sorry to hear about your daycare debacle, hopefully you find a closer way to sort it out.  Any other "home" daycares in the area?

Wkd here was good... nothing crazy.  I've been having pretty bad tension headaches in the back of my head/neck/shoulders recently... and now this morning it seems like there must be a pinched nerve in my back, it hurts so bad... even just breathing i can feel the pain shooting up and down my back.... ugh. so not fun!

  • We had a pretty decent weekend. I wish it would stop raining, though. As much as I like that the snow is disappearing, my dogs are beyond restless. Plus, if they drink any more puddles I'm going to have a nice yellow flood in my kitchen. My fingers are crossed for when I get home this afternoon.

I'm amazed it's already Monday. I didn't even sleep through the weekend like I normally do. We finally moved our office to the basement, and now we have to finish cleaning out what used to be the office so I can paint this week. Plus, I have to pick a paint color. bleh. Any good recs on a gray/blue color? It can be sorta dark, since it will only be a guest room when it's finished. I think I'll start painting the trim in there tonight if I can finally open a window without tons of rain coming in.

  • Good morning! It's my last Monday before March Break... so... WHEE! My kids are in the computer lab all week, so, with the exception of last period today and Friday, I'm having a totally chilled out week.

I'm feeling a bit blog-o-sad right now. It's just... ugh... so many blogging communities are all about people jostling for position, trying to become the next Pioneer Woman. I dunno, I guess I blog more for the love of blogging. I wish I could find a community that was more like that.

  • Good morning! I had a nice, relaxing weekend. Friday night was busy. First we went to a friend's house for a St. Patrick's Day/Celebration of their 25th anniversary of moving to the US party. They moved here for Ireland, so it was very appropriate and a lot of fun. After that I met of with some friends and stayed out way too late. I think I paid for that the rest of the weekend.

Saturday and Sunday I spent most of my time lounging around the house, cleaning and running errands.

This week shouldn't be too bad. My boss is off today, tomorrow and possibly Wednesday. Then Wednesday afternoon I have to head out of town for work and won't get back until fairly late in the evening. Because of that I'll be leaving early on Friday.

  • My weekend was pretty good.  Nice and relaxing.

Friday night my neck was really hurting so I took one of my muscle relaxants.  I ended up in bed at 9:30pm and didn't get up until 9:30am the next morning.  They really knock me out!

Saturday was just our normal running around.  I stopped by my friends new place and now I'm super jealous because it's gorgeous!  But I'm also glad that we are taking our time, saving our money and that we won't have a 35 year mortgage.

Yesterday was a 6 miler, dinner at the in-laws and just relaxing.

Off to work now!  Have a good day.

  • Good morning!

I'm back from vacation. I'm still a little jet lagged but have tons of energy. It feels like I have been gone forever.

How is everyone and any good news?

  • My weekend was good, but sad.  I spent it at home visiting my Mom.  I did her taxes and my sister's taxes while I was there.  The amount of caregiving that my sister provides is huge and too much for me to try to learn in two days, so I couldn't give her much relief on that front, but I did save her a trip to H&R Block with a shoebox of paper.

I think blogging for the love of blogging (and sharing your yummy food) is a good reason.

I think that if you can help just one person, then you're good.  So you're good, because I love that kale bacon pasta thing.

  • Hey ladies!  I just got home, had a Khmer lesson right after work and then went out to dinner with a couple of friends.  The beginning of my weekend was pretty good but I was sick all day Sunday and I'm still feeling pretty blah.  I think it was food poisoning.  Pretty standard here.

Raynes I'd say something... or actually I'd imagine all sorts of things to say and not follow through, cause that's how I roll.  But I'd like to suggest that you say something.

  • Rebaann - Good luck today! (pretty sure you have your follow up), thinking about you  :)

Kaesha - I completely understand your predictament, there are so many blogs I stop following for the pure reason the blogger acts like they are a expert at fashion and thinks their blog rivals the big well known ones.  I prefer people who are relatable and just documenting their journey in life with whatever their hobby is - clothes, food, crafts, traveling, etc....   Keep doing your thing, people will follow because your sincerity and see that you are just genuine person who cooks up some fancy feasts :)

Don't get sad, I love your blog!  I don't think you have to have giveaways/contests, guest bloggers, thousands of followers and be e-BFFs with other well known bloggers to have an awesome blog with something interesting to say.

I know I get a bit discouraged with the blogging community but I just try and keep it up because I do it for my own enjoyment and to share my hobby with others if they want to see and listen.  Your blog is actually one of my favorites because it seems to be written by you and not just an online persona (not that all others are), plus I like food and you make some awesome things!

  • Morning! We had a busy weekend full of masking, prepping and painting. We got the Master Bedroom and Hallway done, hopefully we will get the Dining Room done this week. We got a little careless last night and got paint on our brand new floors, so about an hour was devoted to scrubbing and scraping it up.

My in-laws are coming to town this weekend, so we are going to try the best we can to get the house somewhat in order.

  • Good morning!

I had a great weekend. I was finally able to get a decent amount of sleep and rest. Friday night Eddie and I just stayed in and had a movie night. Saturday we went over to a friend's house and enjoyed some drinks. Yesterday we went over to another friend's house for a BBQ. We had a blast.

Raynes sorry to hear about your floor getting scratch.

  • Morning,

My weekend was kinda lame, but it did get much better late Saturday and yesterday. I discovered a BM dress I have to wear in August is at least 1 size to big already, I may actually re-order it (we'll see).

Also I got to hear the real camel story and let me tell you it is far less funny now than it was when my dad told it. According to my sister the man was totally joking, and was way less entertaining than my dad made it sound. I secretly believe my dad's version is real.

Today I've already been to 1 of 3 doctors appointments.

Rebaann: I'm thinking about you guys!

  • Good morning!

The weekend was nice. We visited V's cousin who was in town from Montreal with her 3 kids. Not only are they an adorable family, but they always have lots of yummy Indian food.

We still haven't started packing... we close next Tuesday... Tongue Tied

  • Morning everyone.  Our weekend was good and fairly relaxing.  Friday, B and I went to the Hawks game, which was great!  We sat next to this couple who appeared to be on a second or third date, and they did not stop talking the entire game.  At one point they even discussed pension plans.  It was kinda odd.  B and I agreed that we're both very lucky because when we go to hockey games we prefer to watch the game and not just talk.  Neither one of us would have been a good match with the parts of the other couple.

Saturday and Sunday were mostly lazy days with cleanup around the house.  I have no idea how 2 ppl acquire so much laundry.

Hope everyone has a good day.

  • Good morning ladies. We had a nice weekend but I can't believe it's already Monday.

Friday night we ended up going to see a house and we put an offer in yesterday. I'll probably start a new post to give updates on how that's going.

It turns out that our friend's surprise party on Saturday was actually a surprise baby shower for myself and one of my pregnant friends. It was a small group of our close friends and we all had a great time. I also found out that one of our friends who has been TTC for over a year and half is pregnant. I almost cried when she told us I was so excited and happy. Sunday I did some cleaning and went grocery shopping. DH finally put the baby's dresser together so I can wash her clothes and start putting it away.

Today I'll be at work and then we have childbirth class tonight. I'm actually enjoying it with the exception of being there until almost bedtime. Hope you all have a great day ladies.

  • Thanks guys. I mean, I'm not planning on giving up what I'm doing - it's a good release for me. I just wish I could find a community I fit in a bit better with.
