  • How exciting Laney, please fill us in when you get back.

After my scare last week things have settled back down. I was in a funk for a couple of days after our check up and being told my placenta is boarder line low; they will have to continue to monitor it at each appointment, but I seem to be out of the funk now. The day we had our check up and scheduled our anatomy scan I realized we will be finding out what we will have on the 12 year anniversary of my grandmothers passing (some years it is easier than others for me but I've been thinking about her a lot more recently.) Hopefully that will help cheer me up some that day.

DH and I bought the crib and Dresser from Target last week since they were on sale and got those built. Things are finally starting to seem real now that the nursery is starting to come together (yes, I know EARLY)

  • Just playing the waiting game at this point. I had a couple spells of pretty strong contractions over the weekend and I am dialated a little, in addition to some other signs pointing to be closer- which I know means it could be tomorrow or two weeks still. For some reason, H and I both feel like it will be Thursday. But then my gut feeling told me I was having a girl the first time and a boy this time, so it doesn't have a reliable track record. In any case, I am ready and so hope I don't go late.

  • Well, Declinn had her 3rd trip to the ER in under a year this weekend!  I was at a friends house and missed a step and fell.  I hit my knee and sprained my ankle (at least I hope so, I'll find out for sure today).  I tried to clucth Declinn close and put my hand behind her head, but that didn't work so she hit her head hard.  At first I thought she was fine so we were going to stay for a little bit, but then I noticed a knot on her head so we left and took her to the ER.  She had a CT scan and everything was fine.  The dr told me anytime she falls from that high I should bring her in like I did, even if she is acting fine.  So, I felt reasurred that I did the right thing.  I felt like such and ass for falling like I did, and like a horrible mother for not catching her soon enough.  But, everything worked out for the best.  I'm just bummed that I didn't get to spend more time with friends!
  • We go for our 20 weeks anatomy scan tomorrow and get to find out whether we are team blue or team pink. I am thinking we will be team blue but I could be wrong. :)

Not sure what to expect at this appointment and if there is anything I should or should not do before going. If you ladies have any insight to share please feel free.

    TIA!

  • Awe, Kelcat, I'm glad to hear that Declinn is ok.  You're not a bad mom for tripping- these things unfortunately happen.

DS had a rough day yesterday too.  I broke a champagne glass in the kitchen on Saturday and was really careful to sweep and then vacuum.  Apparently I still missed a chunk of glass.  I went to get DS out of his high chair when I saw a little bit of dried blood on the top of his foot and a scratch.  I thought 'Hmmm, I wonder how that happened?'  Then, I put my hand under his other foot and my hand came away with blood all over it.  At some point he had picked the piece of glass up in his foot and managed to scratch up the top of his other foot when he tried to dislodge it.  He never even made a yelp until I saw what had happened and started to flip out.  I was freaked out because it was bleeding pretty badly at first.  It turned out not to be so bad and stopped bleeding once bandaged.  Then, he fell down a few hours later while grandmommy was watching him and busted up his upper lip.  Today he still has a pretty fat lip.  Poor baby.

Don't worry about a low lying placenta. I had one and stressed a TON over it, for no reason. Your placenta can only go up, not down.

Like Tasha, I had some signs over the weekend that the end is near. I have a feeling that my OB will tell me that I have dilated tomorrow, I am keeping my fingers crossed. Saturday night I had some strong contractions that were 1-2mins long and were 5 mins apart for a little over 2 hrs. They turned out to be BH, which was disappointing. Everything I have read online about BH says that they are not time-able but mine definitely were.

I had TONS of timeable contractions for weeks before I finally went into labor, so it's definitely possible.

  • I'm a little late on this, but here it is! :)

My parents and sister drove down from NC on Sunday. Yesterday my dad flew up north on business but my mom and sister stayed down here. They are so excited to meet Zoe and have been a huge help! H went back to work yesterday so I've had them to help during the day. Yesterday I had a root from my tooth removed and they had to cut through the gum. They took me to my appt and helped me afterwards. OMG, this is more painful than a c section, I swear!! The left side of my face is swollen too!

Zoe is in a PAvlik harness now for her hip dysplasia. I cried when they put it on and that night when she cried, she was crying harder than she ever had, so it made me cry too. She seems to be adjusting but overall I think she is fussier than usual, but she really isn't all that bad. We go back on the 22nd for another u/s of her hips and I am hoping she doesn't need the harness anymore! When the pediatric orthopedist did his assessment he said that it doesn't feel as bad as it looks on the original u/s, so hopefully some of it has resolved on its own.

  • Are you able to change my information on the update? I use to be jet2paris85 but this is my new SN. I am still due april 23 and it surely is a boy still!!! : ) Thanks!

I'm a bit late on this as well! Everything seems to be going just well. I am dealing with horrible pregnancy induced carpal tunnel that is miserable but other than that I have had a very easy non complicated pregnancy! I cannot believe I can say I am having a baby next month! DH and I also can't believe that we are celebrating our 1 yr anniversay in about 2 1/2 weeks!! Holy smokes!
