Disclaimer- I'm not trying to offend anyone!!! Just curious!
Did any of you do Facebook wedding invites? I just logged into facebook and got an invite for a former roommate. I thought it seemed fairly tacky. Maybe more so though because I know her parents are paying for the wedding and I know they are splurging on things like a $3000 dress, a live band, etc.
Just curious if anyone did facebook invites (versus actual invites) and/or what your thoughts are.

Re: wedding invites....
I didn't do FB invites or any type of evite.
I think if I got a wedding invite on FB I'd find it tacky too.
This. And I'd be seriously judging if I knew the bride had splurged on an expensive gown or a live band, or you know, both.
ETA: Not just because of the money aspect. Invites don't have to be expensive. It also feels like they're just too lazy to track down addresses. Or keep track of responses.

Woke up. Still queen.
I'd judge.
I find it crazy tacky and the bride comes off as lazy, but really it is not good etiquette.
Ditto all this. Seriously lazy. I'm even getting annoyed that I get invites to jewelry parties, pampered chef, candle parties, whatever on facebook. Yeah, it's simple and easy to expand your customer base, but I think it's more for socializing than soliciting business. Especially from people who I went to HS with and who I don't even live near anymore but who just add EVERYONE on their friends list to the invite. And I like getting snail mail, even if it is a lousy little postcard that I just toss.
Tacky! Heck I still send paper invites for birthday partys and our annual summer bbq. Like QoA said you can make invites for cheap, my 150 cost me like 90 or something? It took me a whole week to assemble but they turned out alright.
I pared down my friends list on FB because I was getting so many random invites to things. Every so often, I was tempted to show up to some random party where I would know next to no one and be terribly out of place and inappropriate and be like "oh yeah, so-and-so invited me".

Yeah, I totally judge.
I'm not even going to say how much mine cost. It still makes me want to vomit about houw much was spent. I know someone who does invited and felt obligated to use her. I had and still do have wicked buyers remorse. They were purtty though.
Facebook invite?
I'd be worried it was a mistake, or more of a notification that a wedding was taking place or something.
I mean, I wouldn't think it was acceptable at all.
Maybe real invites are coming?? Maybe the fb thing is more like a save-the-date??
This is a WTF? moment.

I did...NOT! I think any kind of fb invite is tacky. I also still send out paper invites, it adds a personal touch.
On a kinda related note. DH's cousin did a fb invite for her son's graduation for the same date I wanted to have Richard's big 30th b-day party. Now we won't be able to have his party until the end of June. Oh well, it'll work out.
