buffalo chicken dip in a crock pot
ok, I'm making buffalo chicken dip this weekend, but I want to do it in the crockpot with real chicken breasts, not canned chicken. Any idea of how long I should cook the chicken to get to shredded perfection??
Also, should I cook it separate, shred it, then add the ingredients... or should I cook it with the ingredients so it 'infuses' more flavor?? TIA!

thanks raynes, I've done mexican like that before by baking the chicken really slow at low heat for a few hours and then shredding.... and thinking about it I did in the crockpot too, oops...
but I guess I'm not sure I should cook the chicken separate from the ranch/bleu cheese/cream cheese, etc....

Cook it separately first... either grill it (I like doing it this way - adds extra flavor to the dip), boil it, roast it... however you want really! The cooking time will differ depending on how you cook it/how big the breasts are.
Then, just dice it up! I like dicing it in semi-big chunks so you can tell it's real chicken instead of the canned crap. As you mix it in w/ the cream cheese and ranch/blue cheese and red hot, it will start shredding nicely. So you'll have a combo of shredded goodness and chunky goodness (which I like... but if you don't, just shred instead of dice!).
Okay, done with the longest explanation of crack dip ever.
