Went on interview because of recruiter friend, BUT
I went on an interview last Tuesday. I sent the lady I interviewed with a follow up email on Thursday thanking her for the opportunity.
For the life of me I can not get my recruiter to respond to any of my emails regarding the status of the position and if she has heard anything, hell even if she hasn't heard anything.
Should I email the person who interviewed me and check the status, or should I just wait on my recruiter? She has been HORRIBLE throughout this whole process in regards to getting ahold of.
Re: Went on interview because of recruiter friend, BUT
I know it's hard to take the silence, but the recruiter is a very busy person. I'm sure if they're interested in you for the position, they will get in contact with you.
I recently went through a very similar experience and it drove me crazy to not be 'in the loop'.
Today is kind of early to start pestering the person who interviewed you. It has not even been a full week and they may have had other interviews throughout the week (unless you where told interviews were concluding that day or maybe even Wednesday). If they had their last interviews on Friday or if they are still going on, the person who interviewed you probably cannot give you an update and likely has not given your recruiter an update.
You said recruiter ?friend? so do you have personal contact information for the person? If it is really bugging you and you guys are pals, call the cell number. If you do not hear back by Thursday or Friday, you could call the person you interviewed with to check on the status of your application (unless that is against the rules you have with your recruiter). If you were a good candidate, she likely would not mind.
