What to wear? (Interview question)

I've been with my current company for about a year now, and I'm applying for a causal position with a neighboring hospital.  So, I've been out of the interview for a year or so now, and I have no idea what to wear!  When I applied for my job, I was the "fresh out of school," applicant, so I didn't (and still don't) have a go to interview outfit.

Any suggestions?  I'm in MN so snow is always a factor.  I do, however, have the killer coat and bag :)

Re: What to wear? (Interview question)

  • A suit is always appropriate.  But, if you don't have one, I'd go for black pants, a white shirt, and your killer coat and bag.  :)  Be mindful of your shoes too.  If you have to wear boots because of the snow, change into heels in the bathroom before checking in for the interview.

  • I agree, a suit is the best way to go, if you don't have one then you can make due with what my mom would call "your Sunday best" slacks or a skirt and a nice blouse will do in a pinch.
  • a suit

  • IMO, wearing anything less formal than a suit is inappropriate for an interview.
  • Outfit, purchased.  Thanks for your help, ladies!
