so I am in charge of games at my bff's shower. I usually do the timer game(set the timer and the persons gift that she is opening when the timer goes off gets a prize) as well as bingo..where they fill out the card depending on what is on her registry. My problem is ..her mother decided to be green and not have people wrap the gifts since the paper is expensive and just gets thrown away.
So I came up with "how big is she?" where people will cut a ribbon as big as they think her belly is..then go around having her wrap the cut ribbon around her belly..the closest to her real belly wins..
the next game is just a baby pool of sorts..winner to be determined at birth..have guests write down different stats on the baby and the closest wins a dd gift card sent to them.
Then there is always the cloths pin game..and to keep your cloths pin you can't say the word "BABY"
Any other ideas? Do you think those sound ok..sometimes people don't really like to play games at showers anyway.
Re: baby shower game ideas
so like you said, usually I use the time of opening gifts at showers to play games.. How will that work out with not having gifts wrapped? Do they just present them? I'm so confused by this.
I like the "how big is she", what about like something where you have to fill in the missing words to the nursery rhyme?
two other ideas - when I was at a friend's shower they did this:
Baby food tasting - They opened jars of baby food and removed the labels and then passed them around for tasting. Whoever got the most right, won a prize.
Candy bar diapers - They mushed up various chocolate candies in diapers and then we had to guess what it was based on smell and look. Whoever got the most right, won a prize.
Was definitely an interesting shower...
This past weekend at my SIL's we did a onsie table...huge hit.
We bought a whole bunch of onsies in all different sizes and had fabric paint, markers, stamps etc. and we set up a clothes line. table by table everyone came over and decorated a onsie for the baby. It was fun and they loved seeing all the different ideas.
we also did the timer game and gave away OPI nail polish when opening gifts.
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!
My pregnancy after Infertility Blog
Our baby girl was born on April 27, 2011!
I went to a shower where we had to determine the children's book that clues were referring to. The one with the most got a prize. Then we played a game where we had to come up with as many boy/girl names as you could with a specific letter.
Out of the tons of baby/bridal showers I have been to, I have actually only been to ONE that played games. Maybe my group just isn't as fun!
