To cut my hair or not to cut my hair, that is obviously the question?

So ladies, I'm thinking this old married women needs a new do. I dont know if you have seen Jennifer Aniston's new short, bob. Its adorable, not too short and not super angled in the front. My hair is past my shoulders and pretty long. I had a very bad experience once, cutting my hair from long to short, it has kind of freaked me out about the experience.

What do you think ladies, here is the picture.

:) THANKS!

Re: To cut my hair or not to cut my hair, that is obviously the question?

  • I love her new hair. Unfortunately I don't know how it would look on you! haha

    Have you asked your hairdresser?

  • I have.. unfortunately, she has LOOONNGGG beautiful hair and is very biased about it! Haha, she is begging me not to cut it. I'm in my friends wedding this summer and I would just hate to look like a boy or something in all her pictures. :)
  • Honestly I don't see the big deal about her new hair.  I don't think it looks all that different from her old hair and is kind of boring.  I do like Jennifer Aniston, but to me that's just a long bob--yawn.

I'm no help to you because I love going for a big change every couple of years and repeatedly grow out and then chop off my hair.  I just donated somewhere between 8-10" a few months ago.  My hair grows fast though so that minimizes the fear factor a little.

You really don't sound like you're into going for a big chop, so why not just go for more layers around the face or something?

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Rock- you crack me up. :) My fear is my hair does not grow back fast, it has taken me oh about a year to get it to be past my shoulders. I'll have to find a few pictures of layers around the face and look at them both, maybe my hairdresser can do a mix between the two :)
  • I think her cut is super cute!  I say go for it if you think it would look nice on you!  I agree with Rock that sometimes it is fun to just chop it all off!  My cousin and I go together to get our hair cut, and she just cut her hair in a similar fashion...just added some long side swept bangs.  As soon as she did it I had hair cut envy.  Now I am dreaming of chopping mine!
  • I want to chop all of my hair off- like a hardcore mom cut. My sister got married in September and I didn't want to do it before wedding pics, and I haven't had a haircut since because my life has been consumed with all things baby... But seriously, I want as little hair as possible.
  • I'd personally keep my hair long until after the wedding. If the bride wants you in an updo it could be a little difficult if your hair is above your shoulders.

  • Her new haircut is cute, but I don't think it's all that different from her old one. Though it does seem to hang in her face less than it used to, which drove me batty.

You could always add long layers in your hair, and just trim it a couple of inches.  It's a lot easier to cut more off later than it is to grow it back out.  And my hair was just above shoulder length when I got married, and I had an updo, so it's definitely possible with not-super-long-hair.

My mom had shorter than neck-length hair at my wedding and requested an updo.  I thought she was nuts--there was nothing to really put up.  But somehow my awesome hair person managed to give her a French twist.  It was awesome.

    Oh noes.

    Indifferent

    lol.

I like the new bob on JA, but it's just a bob. Cut it off for summer if you like! Every time I cut my hair I regret it about 10 minutes after leaving the salon.

Haha, don't worry, I'm not going to! But it would be nice to never have to touch my hair.
