  • WW works if you follow it. It really does. (spoken by a person very, very far off the wagon with it).

I'm rededicating myself Wednesday (once mardi gras is over, because I'm realistic). I need to lost about 40lbs too. LET'S DO THIS!

  • Okay, I'm just about at my max points for the day and I'm fuckingstarving.  NOT liking this so far.  Someone explain the flex points to me??

  • the first week SUCKS dude. Not gonna lie. Your body will hate you for suddenly eating less. No lie. Water, water, water and zero point foods.

Flex points are the points you have to use on top of your daily points. The total is for the week. So if you have 30 points per day and 40 flex points, those 40 extra are the total you get for all 7 days. For those days when you have a little extra something special and might not be able to eat totally on plan.

I usually try to stay within my daily limits and reserve the flex points for a cheat day or cheat meal, one special meal/day each week.

You can also earn activity points by working out, and you can decide whether you want to dip into activity points or flex points if you go over your daily amount.

My fav zero point snacks are baby carrots, raw green beans, etc. And a rockin' low point snack is air popped popcorn with spray butter or a little hot sauce.

  • ditto everything michele said. the first week is HARD!

i also try to mostly use flexpoints for splurging, usually during the weekends. hang in there, it's a lot to take in but you'll figure out what works best for you.

  • a.  you have 49 weekly points.  USE THEM

    b.  fruits and veggies are free.  SNACK ON THEM!

    c.  there's a fantastic 0 pt soup, make yourself a pot and have a cup before dinner.. it really is filling.

Michele is right.  1st week sucks.  I have to rejump my system so I will be there right with you.  I was .6 away from 75 and now I'm back at 70.  not cool.

You can do this Pam.  40lbs by october?  YOU got this!

  • Yay! Go you!

  • all fruit and most veggies are 0 pts.  I am pretty sure its just peas and corn that have points.  be careful with bananas though.  while they may now have zero points they are still a fattening fruit.

jolly time popcorn has the points value on the box. its low in points and a great snack to fill you up and you can eat a ton.

a tip i found helpful when starting was to figure out the points values of things in your house and write the point value on the box.  that way you only have to figure it out once.  Special K bars are 2 points plus and good if you want a little something sweet.

  • I did it a few years ago and lost 40+ lbs. It is all about drinking the water and portion control. It teaches you how to eat well.
