what is your fav cookbook?
I have a ton of cookbooks, but I rarely use them! I mostly use websites....pioneer woman, bitten word, pam's site, food network etc.
do you think frozen veggies are just as healthy as fresh?
no. i am actually not sure if they are or not, but they don't seem to be. i still use them though!
how do you feel about stock? use it alot? avoid it when you can? think its a cop out for soups?
I use stock if a recipe calls for it, or if I make soup. I don't think it is a cop out, just an easy out. Plus, when they talk about making chicken stock and they say "carcass" it just grosses me out.

Maybe once or twice a month.
you are stuck on an island and only have the ingredients to make one meal over and over. what would it be?
Papardalle Bolognese
fast food- yay or nay?
Nay to McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's etc. (though I do have it once in a blue moon) Yay to DD, Qdoba, Chipotle, Panera.

Me, but he is good at cleaning up after
when researching new recipes- what (unique) ingredient such as __________would immediately turn you off?
Pate, or foie gras. I don't like the texture. Not that you run across those in many recipes, but if I did, it would be done.

how do you feel about stock? use it alot? avoid it when you can? think its a cop out for soups? I use it all the time as a base for soup or in other kinds of cooking. I do make my own chicken stock after cooking a whole chicken.
how often do you cook red meat? rarely - maybe like once every three months
you are stuck on an island and only have the ingredients to make one meal over and over. what would it be? wow, torture! heehee. for some reason right now I'd say Rishta. If you asked tomorrow, it would be a different answer, I'm sure!

you are stuck on an island and only have the ingredients to make one meal over and over. what would it be? i think this is an impossible question! i'm leaning towards the ingredients for my amatriciana sauce, pizza dough, cheeses, and sausage. i could find ways to make pizza interesting for awhile. and i'd need plenty of wine with those meals!

when researching new recipes- what (unique) ingredient such as __________would immediately turn you off? not that unique BUT i fuckinghate mayonnaise! i don't have it in my house and have only eaten by mistake/unknowingly.
what is your fav cookbook? Don't really have a favorite cookbook. We buy specialty books and compile our own recipe book from ones we've tried and liked. Lately, we've been cooking a new recipe out of the Everything Thai cookbook once a week.
do you think frozen veggies are just as healthy as fresh? From what I remember, some of them are just as good frozen, but some lose value from the freezing/thawing/aging process. I couldn't tell you which ones are good and which aren't though.... In general, I avoid frozen veggies. I am really picky about produce and I just don't like the texture of frozen stuff, so I'd rather use fresh.
how do you feel about stock? use it alot? avoid it when you can? think its a cop out for soups? We don't make soup often. Usually stock is the base of a sauce or to cook rice in to make it a little more flavorful. I don't think it's a cop out. We do only buy reduced sodium.

when researching new recipes- what (unique) ingredient such as __________would immediately turn you off? I used to avoid coconut milk since I hate coconut, but we've been cooking curry sauces with it and it's not so bad... Fish sauce in asian foods is disgusting. But, I don't avoid recipes with it - I just replace it with oyster sauce.
what is your fav cookbook? I have a few Rachael Ray cookbooks but don't use them very often.
do you think frozen veggies are just as healthy as fresh? They're good in a pinch. Better than canned veggies.
