We are that house

Our Christmas wreath just came down and in the trash :-)  To my defense I can see two other wreaths from my window.

Re: We are that house

  • Don't most people leave it up until Easter? Maybe that is a Jesus thing...I'm not sure.

    Mine is still up!

  • I actually think that wreaths are OK for a while, like until spring.  Christmas trees and decorations are another story.  If you think about it, there is really nothing all that "Christmas" about a wreath.  It is more of a seasonal thing.  This is all my opinion of course!

  • My neighbors all still have their wreaths up, you're definitely not alone or the last one! :)

Although a few weeks ago M was reading one of those "random state laws" things and apparently in Maine you can be fined for having Christmas decorations up after January 14th!

    that is crazy!!

I left mine up for a few weeks, but took it down to decorate for Valentine's Day.  I can't bear to get rid of them when they still smell so good.

Isn't it? it's definitely one of those laws like "in GA you cannot marry a goat" but I was teasing my mother that she would be reported immediately when I visited her in late Jan. and saw her Christmas tree still chilling in the living room! Haha.

  • pheww!  I'm glad I'm not alone! Wink

  • ummm, About 3-4 weeks ago there was definitely someone in Pittsfield with a Christmas tree still up inside their house and they even had the lights still on. I drove by one night and glanced over and did a double take. Also saw someone up in St. Albans with a tree still up around the same time. Surprise
  • Pretty sure that my mom has hers still up on her door- she also can't bear to throw it out if it's still green lovely, and I'm totally with her, especially if there's still snow on the ground. Full on lawn decorations are another story though- there's a house I drive by pretty regularly that still has their "Santa's Village" display up, and every time I drive by, I'm glad I don't have a lighter in my car... • I took mine off the door on Sunday and haven't been able to bring myself to pack it up for next year yet.  (Yeah, we have a fake wreath, but a very nice one.  For two reasons: 1) reusable and 2) we're not technically allowed to have them so I wanted it to keep a low profile and I was afraid someone might object to the scent.)

  • Hmmm. We are living on the edge of getting a fine I guess Stick out tongue  Our outdoor lights are still up and will be for a while since they are iced over to the house.  I don't want to risk breaking them to get them down (and you can't even see the ones on the bushes since there is a foot of snow over them).

We still have our "G" wreath on the door... I want to undo the wire so I can use the template again next year but only think of it when I walk through the door!

    Not me!!

I do still have white icicle lights up around my porch - that I could easily take down since they are on the inside - I was keeping them up for winter cheer in Jan with some coffee filter snowflake - but Feb/March is just lazy. They are not on.

  • My wreath is still up too. Don't feel bad... and I walk by it daily, several times a day. I don't even notice it any more.
