Thanks for the Prayers...
but we had to put kitty down yesterday
The vet said that she probably did have diabetes but she was in liver failure. They could have hooked her up to some IVs and done a whole bunch of other things but nothing was guaranteed.
The vet said there is no way of knowing whether or not the diabetes was a
cause of the liver failure....and that we were doing the right thing.
But I keep blaming myself for not taking her in sooner. Thinking that maybe if we would have she would still be here.....
It was a rough day yesterday and we miss her terribly already....
Re: Thanks for the Prayers...
Ohhhh, no!!! :-(
Aww, I am so sorry to hear. Don't blame yourself. You didn't know. I know how hard it is for you, because I was just as devastated when we had to put our dog down after 15 years with him. Pets are truly a part of the family and will be missed just as much.
I'm sorry for your loss, and lots of hugs to you!!!
Oh, Mel, I'm so sorry. It's never easy to let go of a pet and I'm sure you absolutely did the right thing. Even if you had taken her in earlier there were no guarantees that she would have lived a happy life and she may have suffered more.
Just give your beautiful doggies lots of love and over time your heart will heal. I'll be thinking about you.

So, so, sorry, Mel...
But please don't blame yourself - Kitty was obviously in pain and suffering. Do you have a picture of her? Maybe you could do a RIP for her and remember some of the great memories and joy that she brought to your lives. I love it when pets are given a nice memorial - because we do love them so very much, and they enrich our lives so!
