heard about this on the radio this morning, but only caught the tail end. yes, i realize it's biologically possible, but i'm still in shock. i'm 31 and barely feel ready to be a mother.
anyone else hear about this? maybe i'll google it to find the story...
Re: 23-year-old grandma?!
I found the story at The Daily Mail.
She (the grandma) got married at 11, then had her daughter at 12. The daughter got married when she was 10 and had a baby by age 11. The baby is a boy, now 2 years old.
It gets better. The boy is engaged to a girl who is 8 years old.
WHAT??!

The thought of having sex at 11/12 just boggles my mind. I had JJ when I was 22 and 1.) am still not fully prepared for baby no. 2, and 2.) don't even want to hear the word grandma until JJ is out of college and married. That woman was a year older than me when she had her first grandkid. She could have great-great grandkids before she's 70 if this trend continues.
Good gracious.
I'm really wigged out by all of this. I LOVE learning about other cultures, but this really creeps me out. Those poor children.
Sidenote: Greg's sister married a man 12 years older than her with teenage daughters. She became a step-grandmom at 28 years old.
