I'm a BM in a wedding in September. The 6 month mark is Thursday. How far in advance do we need to start planning?
The MOH is the bride's younger sister (22) and hasn't been in a wedding before (not that I have either, except my own). I don't want to step on her toes by sending out an email to all the girls asking if we should start thinking about dates and planning, but I'm not sure how much of a planner the MOH is. I just don't want things to have to be thrown together at the last minute because I didn't say anything. (I know, I know, there's still 6 whole months.)

Re: WR: How far in advance?
I am in a wedding in August and the MOH got us all together in January to go over ideas and things for the shower and the bachelorette party. We have pretty much dates chosen and themes chosen and we set up the bachelorette party yesterday since we are doing a spa day and going to a concert that same night. So we started 7 months ahead. I would start now, only because things get booked fast especially with the busy wedding season. Maybe just email the MOH asking if she was thinking about getting together to look into stuff? that way you aren't emailing everyone and no one looks as thought their toes are getting stepped on.
Honestly it's never too early! Especially when planning things in the summer months. I would talk to the MOH get an idea of her thoughts, get a list from the bride of who she'd like invited to the events. I would decide between you and the rest of the bridal party a few weekends for the different events, and then send out the emails with the dates and ask which ones work best. Obviously you can't accomadate everyone, but the dates that the most can attend you go with.
If the bride has any specific wants (like to go away for the bparty, destination place) I would put that in the email so people can start to plan.
