MH has an interesting sense of logic

I leave for work at 6:30AM M-Th and 5:30AM on Fri. I usually take the dog out for a quick pee break, pretty much so he doesn't bug DH and so DH can sleep in a little later. I assumed that since DH leaves for work at 7:50AM (note that's more than an hour after I leave for work) each morning that he was taking the dog out each morning (that's what our routine had been for a long time).

However, Dh just informed me that I should be spending 20 minutes (to give the dog enough time to poop)  with the dog in the morning because I'm the first one up and that he shouldn't have to take the dog out at all because when he comes home at lunch he lets the dog out.  Therefore it's my fault the dog took a poop on the floor this morning. Confused

Re: MH has an interesting sense of logic

  • um no, the one who has the MOST time in the morning spends the most time with the dogs.

I get up shower and leave....I don't even bother with the dogs.  He gets up and gets to take care of Taylor AND let the dogs out and feed them.

  • Jess is right.  You're up early enough to begin with.

  • I get up at 5:30 every morning and I'm out the door by 6:15. MH is sleeping soundly still. I don't feed the dog nor do I let her out, its too dammm early to have to do that. DH does the dog and the baby, because he doesn't have to be to work until 9.

You are being nice letting the dog out at all if you ask me.

  • MH and I vary our dog-taking-out in accordance with our schedules. Throughout the day.

I would soooooo be putting the dog poop on MH's favourite chair if he tried to pull what YH did... Kind of like I did when he decided to "wait until later" to clean up the dog poop and I stepped in it at 5am in my white nurse shoes...

  • Ugh, sounds like my DH-- he thinks that since I'm always home with the dog that I always have to take the dog out vs him who's traveling. So when he's home, he doesn't need to do morning duty. I find fault in that arguement as well.

  • We rotate, as that would not fly in our house. I travel for work as well and I do my fair share. I make sure that I am home for the evening shift when I am not staying overnight on travel, or arrange the dog walker, DH doesn't even have the dog walker's number/email...

DH 90% does the morning shift in the am as I am the one who is home with them in the afternoon and into the evening. Weekends we alternate, We also usually take them to the park in the am together, usually around 7 or 7:30. Dh works 5 miles from our house and I either am traveling or work from home. We like to go together as it's time to catch up as DH may be at work till 7-8 pm.
