Jax Ladies: If you could eat at any restaurant, where would you eat?
I know this question was sort of asked a few weeks ago, but everyone just threw out multiple ideas. I want to know where you would choose to go above any other place if money was no object. DH & I have our 1 yr anniversary next weekend (the 20th) and we're trying to pick a place.
Oh...and if you saved your top tier, any tips for defrosting it?

Re: Jax Ladies: If you could eat at any restaurant, where would you eat?
If money were no object, I'd eat at 'town every night. www.town3611.com
I also LOVED The Coumbia in St. Augustine.
Orsay! They have the best food and cocktails.
We saved our top tier and it was gross. I think I just defrosted it in the fridge.
Honestly, we'd probably go to Biscotti's. We've tried mixing it up and going to other places for different occasions, but we always like that the best. Yeah, I'm a broken record.
Other ideas:
Orsay
Ruth's Chris
bb's
Bistro Aix
If you're willing to drive to St. Augustine, I'd go to:
Cap's
Tasting Room
Conch House (cool and fun experience)
Thanks ladies! Orsay and Town' have come up several times when I've asked people. We want to try a new place and haven't been to either of those restaurants yet.
LB: We love Biscotti's too!
CD: Let me know how you like it. That looks like a really fun place.
jacmdb: I'm definitely not holding my breath on the cake being the same amazing cake as our wedding day. We should have just enjoyed it when it was fresh. My sister & SIL both said that their tiers were really good...but I'm not sure that I stored mine correctly. I think it's probably freezer burned.
Matthew's! Matthew's! Matthew's!

And I've always been really happy with my meals at Ocean 60:

yum! We went there for DH's birthday a few years ago. So good!
I have a restaurant.com for here that I haven't used yet. I'll have to use it.
Gosh, thinking about this, I'm realizing that we tend to save our really nice dinners for when we're out of town.
We like to go to Roys for special occasions though.
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

Ours got stuck in the freezer just in a box so that is why it turned out so bad. Good Luck!
If you decide on Orsay.. I recommend the Pear Jalapeno Margarita and the Haricots Verts Salad to start. Yum!
That's how ours was stored the night of the wedding. The next day I took it out and wrapped it like a mad woman in plastic wrap and then tied the box up in a bunch of grocery bags...lol no clue why. I just didn't know what else to do with it. Maybe we'll test it before dinner so we can get dessert out if need be!
I think DH is leaning towards Orsay so I'll report back on the yumminess if we wind up there.
If you like lamb, they have an amazing lamb shank. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. I might have to convince DH that we should go there for our anniversary at the end of this month.

DH and I went to Roy's for dinner on vacation and I know there's one in Jax. It was our first time there and both of us absolutely LOVED our meals and agreed it was our favorite dinner in awhile.
For defrosting our cake, I just set it out on the counter for 4-5 hours and then put it in the fridge. Ours held up perfectly, but DH's best man had wrapped it up in an entire box of "press 'n seal." lol
Haha. That's awesome. What a great best man. Not at all what I would have expected from a guy.
I don't think I've ever even heard of Roy's. We'll have to check it out. Sigh. We really need to start eating out again more often.
Roys has the BEST service of any place I've ever been. If it's a special occasion, they take your picture too.

I think they change the menu up regularly, so I'm not sure if it would be the same when/if you go. But, DH got "Surf and Turf," steak and shrimp...which was very good. I got this amazingness on a plate. "Lemongrass encrusted Mahi." It had this coconut curry sauce. OMG. Yeah, it's on our list whenever we are near one again. haha
He was quite proud of himself and would tell the story during our first year. He couldn't WAIT for us to open it. I had low expectations. But, it was actually REALLY good. He still brings it up. haha
I completely agree with this statement.
Really? My brother just went there the other night & he said he wasn't impressed.

We recently went to Joe's 2nd Street Bistro in Fernandina Bch.... it is a small, quiet place, the service was excellent and the food was great!!
I thawed our top tier in the fridge for a day.... it tasted really good! After the wedding I wrapped it in plastic wrap, then foil, then put it in a big zip-loc bag in the freezer.
Happy Anniversary!
DH and I went once and really enjoyed it.
