Anyone doing WW?

I lost a lot of baby weight immediately, but still have more to go. And I weighed myself yesterday and had gained back 3lbs. oops!! So I think I am going to try the online WW. I signed up for a 7 day free trial and it seems a lot like Spark People.

Anyways I was pretty sure someone on here was doing WW!

Re: Anyone doing WW?

  • Yep, I am! I have lost 9 lbs but then I kinda jumped off track. These past 3 days I've been going it again. You can put the WW app on your phone and when you need to know how many points something is, it is easy to look up. I have 29 points/day and sometimes I dont even need all 29.

  • Wow congrats on losing 9 lbs!!

I have 36 points a day and I don't see how I could use them, but I thought you were supposed to use them all? And are the weekly points extras to use throughout the week? Because I have 49 of those. I should have read all the instructions but I signed up really quick. I just want to see if it is worth the money, I have a week to decide! What do you think? Is it worth it to you?

  • I think it is worth it. I am a compulsive eater so I like tracking how many points each thing is worth. And I should say I use most of the points... sometimes I have like 2 or 3 left. I like to eat apples or bananas which are 0 points. The 49 extra is for if you don't feel satisfied and need something else after all your points are gone. That way you aren't depriving yourself. But the 49 is for the entire week. I try not to use them unless I'm just starving... or just need an ice cream. :-p WW ice creams are yummy!

  • My family is starting it besides me next week. My mom went lifetime a while ago and her goal is to get back down to that weight. After the LO is born I will probably try it along with a more strenuous exercise schedule to get back to my precollege weight.
  • I'm doing WW. I just made my 10% goal on Thursday. Took me 5 months to do it, though. That's not WW's fault, though, it's me. For me, it's been really slow but steady,  a flat week here or there, and a 3-lb gain at Christmas. I knew that would happen, and I also knew it would come right back off, and it did. But it's added to the overall slowness.

I think it's a great program and the best part is that I know I can live like this, and that's what really matters.

Oh, but I do the meetings, and I've found that's the only way that works for me. Sadly, I just don't have the self-discipline to go it alone online. At least I know my weaknesses :-)

If you want to try a meeting, I go at 7 on Thursdays to the New Tampa center. Courtney is great, she's funny and very motivating. I always feel ready to start another week after a meeting with her.

ETA: You don't have to eat all of your daily points, but they do want you to try to meet all the healthy guidelines or whatever they're called. If you're BFing, you should probably try to stick pretty close to eating all your points because you don't want it to affect your supply.

  • I joined about 6 weeks ago but have been a slacker for the past couple weeks and have just been maintaining.  I started tracking again yesterday and even went to the gym this morning! :)

I would be interested in doing a weekly WW post on here if others would be interested.  It doesnt just need to be WW either, anyone who would be interested is welcome!

  • I am also doing it and doing fairly well. I do not go to meeting but have the app on my phone that I love.

I have done it in the past and did very well lost 80 lbs. Stopped and gained some of that back so now I am back to doing it. If you stick with it you will do well.

  • Are you BFing?  I did it after I had Macy and was successful.  But I had to quit before I made it to my goal because it totally effed up my milk supply.  Even on the BFing plan.

However, I have found the South Beach Diet to be more successful for me than WW.  But I suck at diets and have trouble staying on track.  Ha.

  • I was doing WW until I got pg.  I plan on going back on it and maybe joining a YMCA/Shapes type dealie after I get the ok from the Dr.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE (did I mention I love?) WW.  I am pretty type A, and always had difficulty with portion sizes, so WW works really well for me - I can complusively track my food and put in new recipes that I try and measure out portions.

I hear that they changed the plan a little since I left in October.  I did online since I figured I'd be too busy for meetings, but I might like meetings, too.

Yeah I am BFing..if I notice a change in supply I'll definitely stop! It did give me extra points for nursing though. And after next week I can probably work out again so I will be eating more. I've done South Beach in college but I cannot imagine not eating carbs right now! I know it is only two weeks on phase 1 but I am hungry all the time!

You might call and ask if there are extra points for feeding twins. I would think there would be.

I dunno about you, but I've never been so dam hungry in my life as when I was nursing. I remember sitting in some stupid meeting being ready to eat paper I was so freaking hungry.

That is the best description! I am so freaking hungry!! Haha. At first I thought I was just eating more because I am home and snacking, but I am legitimately hungry all the time. And putting my foods into the WW tracker is such a shock. So now I will hopefully make better choices. Like yesterday I had some fries and that was like 12 points. Whoa! I know fries are bad, but geez I didn't think I would use my extra points the first day.
