Woe is me...

This is my 7th week at my new job which I've actually really started to like.  I am just through a temp agency but was told it was a temp-to-hire position so I was optimistic that eventually I'd get hired on.  I found out on Friday that there is no way that is going to happen.  In May, the company is moving to another city about 30 minutes away and my department didn't get the approval to bring the temps along and the entire company is on a hiring freeze until after the move, so come May (or before if they feel like it) I am out of a job again.  I've already updated my resume and have applied to around 15 places in the last few days, but it just stinks.  I feel like I just went through this and now my life has turned back into online applications and personality tests.  Blah Tongue Tied

  • So sorry to hear that and it is disappointing!  I am sure something will work out for you.. try to stay positive ;)...maybe the temp agency will have something else lined up for you?

  • Ugh Xan I'm really sorry to hear that, I'm sure it's frustrating.  I'm a firm believer that everything really does happen for a reason so I'm sure something better is on it's way to you!  Stay positive.
  • Ugh, Xan, that's sooo frustrating!

DH did temp jobs when he first graduated...eventually he got on a temp-to-hirt position and has been with the company almost 2 yrs now.  Keep your chin up!

  • Thanks ladies, I really appreciate the support.  I've always heard it is easier to find a job when you have a job, so I am hoping that is true.  At least I have some kind of warning now though, so I know to start applying to places.  With my last job, I walked in one morning with what I thought was a job for the rest of my life and walked out about 2 hours later fired with nothing...so I am just happy to still be having a paycheck coming in while I am looking.
