Recommend your dermatologist please!

Im having some skin issues on my face, and no matter what products I try it never helps.  Im hoping I can find a derm that will also give me something that will lighten up scarring, redness and even help with wrinkles.

Please let me know if you have a suggestion on derms on the farther east side as well!

Re: Recommend your dermatologist please!

  • I see Dr. James Nordlund with Group Health.  I really like him!!!  I'm afraid of what happens when he finally does retire (he's much older and wears a bowtie).

Anyway, he's very thorough, will take teh time to talk to you, and if he doesn't know the answer he looks it up.  He has office hours in Mason and Kenwood.

DH just got a new patient visit scheduled for mid-April, which is pretty good for getting into a dermatologist.

I'm not sure if that's too far from you or not, but I always recommend him so I thought I'd chime in.

I second this!  My husband and I saw him off of Kel's recommendation.  Love him!

  • I third the recommendation for Dr. Nordloh.  I had a mystery bump on my ear and my GP sent me to him.  He said that even though it would be an hour+ drive for me, he thought he was good enough to warrant it. I agree; he was greatYes

  • Dr. Nordland or Dr. Toby Mathias with Group Health Associates. If you go to GHA's website they provide a list of all their Derm's and what locations they go to.
  • I like mine but they're in Dayton.  They're part of Wright State's med school & take a more academic or scientific approach to things.  They very aggressively treated my acne w/o doing silly stuff like trying to sell me their exclusive line of skin care products (the private practice derms always seem to do this!).  I'm sure it's a haul for you to go to Dayton so I would check into the group affiliated with UC's med school.  They might not do some of the cosmetic procedures but they can probably suggest someone they trust.

  • Wow ladies, thank you so much!  So glad to see it's an overwhelming response for the same doctor.  Thanks again :)
  • I go to Lana King at UC Medical Arts Bldg and I also work for a derm office at UC Hospital, where my mom goes.
  • I see Dr. Diab with Group health for the weird moles on my back. He's very nice and personable.
