I want to start by saying part of me feels this may be inappropriate to ask/write on a public board, but the other part of me wants to hear feedback. Here goes:
Stella's bad labor/delivery experience with Dr. G makes me a little nervous. The last thing anyone wants is a bad experience during that time. I'm curious to see what other's have experienced with her & the other doctors in the practice.
Since this is a public message board lets use abbreviations for their names.
Have you met all of the WHS's doctors?
Do you have a favorite?
Who delivered your child(children)?
Were you satisfied with their bed side manner & ability during L&D?
Anyone you didn't want to see? Why?

Re: S/O: WHS doctors poll
Have you met all of the WHS's doctors? All except for the very newest one.
Do you have a favorite? Dr H. I also like R.
Who delivered your child(children)? Dr P who doesn't deliver anymore and Dr H.
Were you satisfied with their bed side manner & ability during L&D? Not with Dr P but very satisfied with Dr H.
Anyone you didn't want to see? Why? Nope. I feel very comfortable in any of their care. They do have different personalities but you get that anywhere.
Other comments: I think one person's good experience can be another's bad experience. Sometimes is just depends on the person and their expectations. Other times there are just Dr's who have bad bedside manner period. It's kind of a crap shoot.

I only have experience during my "yearly violation" but I see Dr. H for that and she's great. I got to know her a little bit more personally when I had my internship for school and she's just really easy to talk to (and when we are talking about naughty bits - that's a good thing!). I went to her because my general practitioner recommended her.
Other comments: Honestly everyone's birthing experience is so different it's hard to compare yourself with someone else's experience. Of course in the medical field it is a customer service job, however, OB's/midwives have TWO patients to think about you and baby. The doctor's and nurse's main concern at the end is that everyone is safe and healthy.
Have you met all of the WHS's doctors? All except Dr. P.

Do you have a favorite? Yes- Dr. H and also the NP
Who delivered your child(children)? Dr. H
Were you satisfied with their bed side manner & ability during L&D? Yes, she was awesome and made me feel better about having an (unplanned) C-section.
Anyone you didn't want to see? Why?: I don't mind Dr. K....but every time I see her she mentions my weight.
The best part about having an unplanned c-section the first time around was that Dr. H was the surgeon. I felt like it was such a blessing and I feel like I really owe a safe and healthy delivery to her. She will do my second one also, and I'm glad because I just think everything went so smoothly.
Thanks for your responses so far. It's interesting to hear everyone's experiences.
I have been a patient of Dr. H for 5 years & love her. We're planning to TTC later this year & I hope she'll be the one to deliver for me.
I have not met all the docs. Aside from Dr. H I've seen the NP, Dr. G & Dr. P. I thought Dr. P & the NP were both nice. I remember feeling uncomfortable asking Dr. G questions, almost like she was annoyed or my questions were dumb.
I have not met one of the dr's, but I don't remember which one. I just met Dr. G today. She seemed nice, but also rubbed me a bit the wrong way. There's a story to this: I want to try to travel to my sis's wedding, 6 hrs away, at 36 weeks. I did not make it to 36 weeks with 1st DS. So I'm on progesterone, and I take my last pg shot 3 days before the wedding, and they last for a week. When I asked at my first appt about the feasibility of this idea, they had me describe the drive (I35 south thru KC, Emporia, to Wichita), and said we'd evaluate at my 36 wk appt. I bring it up every so often to make sure it's still an option, but G said no. she was concerned about being in such a small town. but didn't give me time to explain that at no point in my drive would I be more than 1 hr from a NICU hospital, and Wichita is a BIG town.
So I feel like she didn't listen as well. But that's my petty complaint for the day, as I'd really like to be allowed to try to make it, or at least see what I'm like 2 days before the wedding. I only have 1 sister!
edit: Haven't met Dr. K, or K-G.
Favorite: I think Dr. H. I'm bad with names and writing down who I've seen though, so I have no idea if that's right! edit: Dr. H. for sure.
Delivered: first DS was with a different group
L/D experience: N/A
don't want to see: I'd rather meet them all, and at least know the face I'm seeing is "familiar"
I do like that they all have read my char before entering the room. my last OB office never did, and made me feel stupid for asking questions. This one doesn't do that, and they're always knowledgeable about my IVF process, and my history.
Have you met all of the WHS's doctors? Yes
Do you have a favorite? Probably Dr. H
Who delivered your child(children)? Dr. K-G delivered Maya. Dr. G delivered Cameron
Were you satisfied with their bed side manner & ability during L&D? Yes, very much so. I wasn't entirely impressed with Dr. R (K now). I was very happy with both docs that delivered my babies. I have also liked the NP.
Anyone you didn't want to see? Why? I didn't schedule any more with Dr. R (K) because she rubbed me the wrong way, but I would have been okay with her on delivery day if I would have ended up with her. She made me feel very badly about my weight and just made some strange comments.
Other comments:
I will say that I felt a little pressured into a C/S by Dr. G. She offered it because she thought Cam was going to be really big. However, she was very patient with me during my indecisiveness. I left the office scheduling an induction, called back to schedule the c/s, arrived for my c/s, then changed my mind and went for the induction. She never made me feel badly about that and supported my decision.
In all honesty, neither doc was really in there very long with me. I owe most everything to the nurses. They were wonderful, especially the nurse I had with Cameron. I give her all the credit for having a vaginal birth that day.
I'm glad it's not just me! Yeesh! It is seriously comments every time I see her.
Have you met all of the WHS's doctors? I have met all of the doctors, including the NP (unless there has been a new doctor since June)
I didn't get a good feel from her in the office and after that situation (which I never addressed with anyone) I don't care to see her.
Do you have a favorite? Dr KG and Dr H are my favorites
Who delivered your child(children)? Dr K did my unplanned c-section
Were you satisfied with their bed side manner & ability during L&D? I wasn't thrilled with her. After my c-section was done and DH had taken our son to the nursery she was responding to text messages from her husband while stitching me up.
Anyone you didn't want to see? Why? See above about Dr K
Other comments: I had a m/c before my pregnancy with Derek and Dr KG is the one who gave me the news and was very understanding and compassionate. Dr H did my D&C and she was very easy to talk to and answered all of my questions without making me feel dumb. I didn't get to see either of them as much with my pregnancy with Derek and I really wish I would have (I did get to see them on the M&B floor though). I have mixed feelings about Dr G, sometimes I really liked her, other times I felt like she was annoyed with my questions.
ETA: I love the NP, I wish she could have done my delivery!
Have you met all of the WHS's doctors? Yes.
Do you have a favorite? Yes, Dr. H hands down
Who delivered your child(children)? Dr. H.
Were you satisfied with their bed side manner & ability during L&D? Yes, she came in to check on me a few times during L & D. Althought most of the job is done by nurses and even though there were a few concerns she was really patient and comforting and tried lots of different things that allowed us to avoid a c-section birth.
Anyone you didn't want to see? Why? YES! Dr. K who used to be Dr. R. I don't care for her callous attitude. She was pushing us to do a c-section when he had potential concerns about baby's size and I feel she was down right dishonest with me about why a c-section was my only option if baby was measuring big.
Other comments:
Dr. KG is ok, but seems a little inconsistent. I've had times where she was super great and helpful, then times where she was a little borderline rude when I asked questions.
Dr. G was fine. I only saw her for one quick appointment so I don't have much to say about her, but she seemed very nice.
Dr. H is my favorite. She never pushes me on anything and always goes out of her way to suggest things that will make the pregnancy easier without me even having to request it.
