slack off... I mean take a break at work?
Re: What do you do to....
Usually I just read the Nest since I can't post- but I snuck in and have had my computer on for a couple of days now to not lose it (and for work related stuff too). I also read/ post on my Mommy board, do personal finance stuff (like balance checking, bill paying, budget analysis, and other spreadsheet based stuff), sometimes read a bellydance message board, plan stuff (vacation, birthday parties, christmas shopping, holiday parties, anything else I can use a spreadsheet for), write up meal plans, get lost on stupid internet articles, talk to DH on the phone...
I'm a master slacker. Though the last 3 weeks have been nuts, so I haven't had much time for it- booo!
I'm always on here and FB (keep them open all day since we don't have internet usage monitors @ work), msnbc.com, gmail, my blog list, Perez, and tooling around on various store websites (Anthroplogie, Boden, Amazon, etc). My brother also recently sent me the link for a website where you can play old school Nintendo games from the 80s and 90s, so I spend a fair amount of time playing Tetris: http://www.1980-games.com/us/. Really, I don't really do a lot of active "work" during my day, it's more a lot of spur of the moment stuff and putting out the occasional fire.

Nest, FB, online surveys (that pay you money), and now I will be working on some stuff for my sister since she has hired me as a PT personal assistant. This will include things like communicating with the financial aid office at my niece's chosen college, planning trips, planning a graduation party, and creating a spreadsheet to track spending.
For real? I'm intrigued! And broke! LOL.

Mostly I read the Nest and FB on my phone. Our screens get recorded so no non-work internet for me.
That will change soon though!!!!
I call it multitasking!!
When I need a brain break I come over here, FB, Food Gawker.
I've heard of people doing online surveys for money, but never actually knew someone that actually did them. I'm going to check it out. I also love the idea that you're doing personal assistant stuff for your sister! Have you done this before for people? What a great little side gig!
I am somewhat OCD, which makes me AMAZING at organizational tasks. I am blessed to have a sister who is so successful and loaded that she needs and can afford a personal assistant. I clearly chose the "other" road to happiness.
