Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

in this case, i think of jamais (ja-may) which is french for never

With the "i" it looks more like "jamais" was misspelled, and that means "never" in French. My brain is flipping the letters, and I'm reading it as jah-may or jah-mays
I think I'd pronounce it your way if you used a "y" in place of the "i" -- Jaymas

I still don't see it as "Jay-mas" when you spell it "Jaimas" .

Shot in the dark here, but what about "Jaemas"
And I agree, if it's just a middle name, it's not nearly so critical that it's intuitive.
Just thinking of Jaemas more ... "Seamus" is pronounced "Shay-mas"...
