Can you believe this?
So we live in a development that has an association, we pay fees, etc. So anyways someone took a picture of our house, with our garbage cans outside the front of our garage the day after garbage came and reported us!!! We got a stupid violation in the mail! We can't have garbage cans visible to the street. We have till March 17 to put them way or we get fined 25 bucks a day. I'm so livid!! We ALWAYS put our cans away the day garbage comes or the day after. There are so many others on our road who have theirs out 24/7. Who would seriously do that???

I'm really glad we don't live in an area that has HOAs. That is so petty. Are your trashcans really the Scarlett letter of the street?

That is so annoying! Our HOA is awful too. We always follow every rule and Ben is so anal. In fact, even thought we are renters they contact Ben all the time. I put up curtains in our kitchen window that were red, and we got a notice in a day. You can not even see them because the window is in the back of our carport.
Also, they sent our landlord a notice about the satellite dish, that it had not been approved and it was illegal. Yeah, it has been up there for 10 years and got approval back then. They made the company come out and move the wire a couple of inches and then the shut up.
Sorry this turned into a vent for me too.

If you wanted to be a real smart alec, you could take a picture of every house in the development and send them in.
We got a violation letter for having a dead tree in the front yard. Um, there were no leaves because it was WINTER. See those buds growing now? They're not growing from a dead tree.

You should only be able to see white or beige from the outside. We have blinds on all of our other windows but nothing in the kitchen so I made something to put up. If you saw the tacky crap that our neighbors have out there, red curtains are the least of their problems.

I would be out there with my camera come friday.
DH was adamant on no neighborhoods with HOAs when we were house hunting. There are some around here that require you to get approval for the colors of your annual plants before you can plant them.

It's little things like this that make me happy our HOA is uninvolved. but at the same time.... I'm tired of the crap that does go unnoticed that they should say something about. Like the car with a flat tire that's been parked in a visitor space for over 3 months, preeettty sure they're not visiting. just wasting a parking space that could be used for my baby shower guest! Not gonna lie, I'm debating sending them a letter regarding that car.... ergh.
Anyways, I say hunt down the person who sent the picture in and give them a big ol' throat punch.
