QOTD

Who drives, you or DH?  Any particular reason why?

I ALWAYS drive because Richard scares me when he drives.  I swear I need to put a mask over my eyes when he drives.  I'm such a backseat driver period, but when he drives I always critique him.

  • H almost always drives. I'm an AWFUL driver and I have the record to prove it.

    Woke up. Still queen.
  • I should also add that I've been driving since I was 14 so I do have a lot more experience than him.  He doesn't mind that I drive.  I do let him drive, when I need a designated driver that is.

  • I hate when MFD drives. If he's driving, I have to be reading, sleeping, or drunk.

  • Toby drives...Im a crazy female driver I know it, my daughter knows it...it's just a fact of life.

  • Usually DH drives because I don't like driving. I'm good at it and I'll do it if I have to, but I like to just let him do it. Also, I hate driving in the snow, it makes me very nervous. The snow seems to be gone now though (finally) *fingers crossed*. Seriously this was the 3rd snowiest winter in Ann Arbor, MI's history. WTF snow!? Sorry for my ranting tangent. The moral of the story is, DH drives unless he doesn't know where we're going and I do.

  • Usually DH drives although I hate when he drives but I HATE driving. I'm a good driver and pay way better attention than he does. I always critique him and he hates it so I'll bring a book, knit or nap to distract myself from his driving.

  • well, we ALWAYS take my car because it gets better gas, but really the reason is because gerren is SUCH a slob in his truck, there is no room for me to sit!

since its my car, i do drive a lot.  but at night gerren drives.  and on any sort of "long trip" (more than an hour) gerren drives.  i want to go on a long drive with gerren now, that sounds fun :)

debdeb--i am the worlds biggest back seat driver.  gerren HATES it.

  • I like to think (and let him think) that i don't mind when he drives, but i'm usually scared to death with J drives.

If we take his truck, he drives.

If we take my car, I drive.

  • Depends on where we are going and who feels like driving. James drives okay but scares me at times (he gets mad when I backseat drive or complain about other crazy drivers on the road). My vehicle is cleaner, has a radio and although it isn't so great on gas (decent but not great since it's a medium sized SUV) I feel safer in it.

  • Don is not the best driver and he's given me my fare share of scares, but he hates to just ride in a car...he wants to drive.  So, he typically always drives.  I'm a good driver especially compared to him.  If we're taking my car I typically always drive...unlses it's for a trip and then he just "has" to drive.  I don't drive his car b/c he won't let me...it's a really old nissan and it's finicky.

  • H when we were dating ALWAYS drove. I hate driving.

When we got engaged, we went on our trip to celebrate. They Keys like a 7 hour drive, which prior to engagement H would always drive, he made me drive part way.

Now that we are married I drive all the time. Even around town. We also share a car now so most time it is out of convience that I drive.

This is actually a running joke between us how it has changed the more committed we have gotten.

  • K usually drives.  I don't mind driving (jeez - I go 50 miles each way for work) but for him, I think it's a guy thing.  If we go on longer trips (1hr plus - like to my parents or NY) he gets bitchy if I don't let him drive.  Plus, if it's later at night, I'm mostly likely sleeping in the car, so fine by me.

I didn't used to be a backseat driver, but I'm a lot more paranoid since I'm KU.  I do all those *quick sigh* and *invisible brake* and "watch" that my mom does which I HATEHATEHATE.

  • We always take my car when we go anywhere becuase he drives a little two door car with exhaust, it's a standard, and it's super low to the ground so you feel everything. When we drive my car we take turns driving. I don't think he is used to driving a large SUV (tahoe) like mine and our brakes are way different so I get irratated with him easily if he's driving.

  • If it's my car, I drive.  If it's his, he drives.

Now that we have the Range Rover, he's been driving.  I don't mind.  It's soooo big.  I like small cars.

We both critique each other's driving and we both love to be behind the wheel.  When we take our annual drive cross country, we take both cars so that we can both drive.  We tried doing it in the same car once and it wasn't pretty.

    We're insane. I know.

    Fourth Anniversary

H usually drives, because he biitches about my driving (too fast).  Also, I like to read or peruse the interwebs while I'm riding in the car, and he usually just sits there and crawls up my butt about how fast I'm going.  So him driving works out better for us all around.  Big Smile

But I drove on our honeymoon, in Croatia, and I'll be driving on our upcoming trip.  We're only getting a car for a few days in Southern France.  He's not used to a manual, and that's all I drove until 2 years ago.  We got some funny looks from the ferry boat guys in Croatia, with me driving.

How does that work?  Where do you go?
