I don't really have much to do today but have drinks with an OOT friend later.
What's the good word?

Re: Hi guys!
Hey there!
Drinks after work sound wonderful. Where is your friend visiting from?
I hope to get back to you about the blog header soon I'm trying to decide on a new (and shorter) tagline.
Hypogammaglobulinemia? Never mind, that's a bad bad word.
I have a patho exam at 3pm and I'm commencing freak out mode. Yay!
Aubrey is actually napping today so I had a few minutes to update my blog, check my bank balance, and catch up on a few things on the computer -- a welcome change from just being able to check something through my phone since she allowed me to put her down and stay asleep for the last hour.

hawki - can we get some more Aubrey pics?
Lucy Elizabeth 10.27.12
Hey guys!
I'm glad Aubrey's giving you a break Hawki.
How are work preparations going Mamie? Well besides shopping, which your blog says you're still a pro at
Bwhaha. Can that be something I can add to my Twitter bio: "shopping pro"?
I still need to do more shopping for business clothes that fit. Apparently not moving from my couch for three months has done a number on my a$$. Yesterday I got shot with the flu shot, TB shot, and they drew 5 vials of blood from me. Got my employee photo taken too. And peed successfully in a cup!

You betcha! Add it to the resume.
I had to do bloodwork and all that jazz before starting my job (and annually ever since). I still question it every time and delay scheduling it.
The important question is: will you be nesting at the new job?
Glad to know I'm not alone in the needling. Makes you feel somewhat like a criminal.
As for nesting, I don't know. Because of my department, I'll again have more IT access than others, and the privacy of my own office will be nice, but probably not nesting at work for a bit unless it's from my phone.

Hello! I was out running a bunch of errands today. Trying to figure out yet again what the weather is doing. It was around 50 yesterday and was supposed to be today. Imagine my surprise when it was freezing out and it has been raining all day. I'm also debating what I am giving up for lent, can I go a whole 40 days without sweets?
Hawki-I second mamie with more Aubrey pics. I'm glad she let you get some stuff done.
Mamie-I hate getting shots for work, I've had to at all of my jobs, yuck. Glad things are going so well for you and your start date is getting closer : ) Are you excited? Boo to less nesting though : (
mb - pot meet kettle. We need more pics of your tiny human too!
I am excited to start. Just nervous to be the new girl again and not know anything. Plus I'm noticing a slight level of social retardation when I talk to people lately. I think staying at home for over 3 months has introverted me. :-/

I'll work on some pics of Ayden. I have them, just not uploaded yet.
Since I've been at home, I feel that way about talking too. Sometimes I say to myself "did that really just come out of my mouth?" You'll be back to your old confident speaking self in no time.
LOL. That happens to me too! Yesterday at my employee screening, I felt like a dumb preteen when speaking to the LPN. Highly conscious of my actions and words but not being able to stop the word vomit. It's amazing how quick your social competency can leave you. :-/

Boo, get weel soon SBS!
Hawki ? glad you are getting a break! I second wanting more Aubrey pics
KB ? how did the test go?

Meh. I'm not pleased. I feel like the chapter she glossed over the most was the one she most heavily tested on, and the chapter we spent days going over was barely touched on. I don't feel good about this one.
I hate that phase where every day you feel like you're going to be fired for not knowing how to do anything.
Good morning ladies!
I love all the updates, glad to hear things are going well for everyone. The hubs comes back from China today (YAYYYYY) and I'm taking off work tomorrow to be with him. Not much else is new here, finally thawing out from the foot of snow we got on Monday. Hope everyone has a great Thurdays!
Weren't y'all considering an international move for DH's job? Did you pass?
Steph-Yes, it is still a possibilty. DH was in China to meet with some clients, but also to see if Shanghai is a place we could live. His boss included an ex-pat assignment in the budget for the new year. It's a bit of a waiting game right now.
Ooooo exciting! I have some friends who took a year-long assignment in Shanghai and their pictures were awesome. And think of the short trips you could make all over Asia while you're there!
Would you be able to take a year off from your job? Do you think you could return to the same one?
Travel is ecactly what I am excited about! There are so many places to go to that would only be a short flight away. I sadly don't think my employer would hold my job for a year, nor would I really want my already overworked co-workers to have to pick up my slack. However, DH would most likely get a huge promotion when we got back which would allow me to take some time in finding a new job.
I would be nervous about the uncertainty of your job when you return, but I think this falls under one of those once-in-a-lifetime deals that you have to grab when it becomes available. You can be our international June 09 representative.
You pretty much nailed my thoughts. I don't know what will happen exactly with my career but am willing to take the risk. I also think that adding international experience could help my career. I work in higher education as an academic advisor and living abroad might give me the chance to have oppurtunities with study abroad or working with international students.
