Restaurant for Anniversary Dinner Recs (in Orlando)?

DH and I are going to Orlando for our anniversary this weekend. We're staying at the Doubletree right outside of Universal (thanks to a rec by LB). I'm trying to find a restaurant for us to eat at Sunday night. Something a little nicer, with a romantic vibe perhaps? I'd like somewhere that I wouldn't feel overdressed if I wore a cute dress and heels. Anyone have suggestions?

Re: Restaurant for Anniversary Dinner Recs (in Orlando)?

  • International Drive is right near there.  There's tons of nice steak and other fancy places on the strip.  I cant think of anything specific, but there's like 10 within a stones throw in any spot.

  • I will say Roy's again b/c I think there is one in Orlando too.

Also, Texas de Brazil is in Orlando.  It's a churrascaria.  I haven't been to it, but I heard it is nice.  I've been to Fogo de Chao (similar restaurant) and it was amazing.  It is nice, though I wouldn't necessarily say romantic.  But, it is definitely a neat dining experience for a special occassion.

  • I've never been and can't say how fancy or not it is (maybe DP can help?), but Seasons 52 is less than four miles from the hotel.

  • Would you consider any of the Disney hotel restaurants?

We went to Narcoosi's (I think that's right) and the California Grill while at Disney. They were both amazing.

Definitely. We'll probably drive somewhere for dinner and then park our car at the hotel to go out for drinks after.

A friend on FB suggested this as well. I'll have to look into it.

  • The Ravenous Pig is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Orlando.  My friends rave about it.  We used to live down there, but we rarely ate at fancier places so I don't have much to recommend lol.

  • Thank you for all the suggestions. The biggest problem I was having is that there ARE so many options in Orlando. It was hard to narrow it down. This gives me somewhere to start without just searching through tons of google searches.

  • Seasons 52 is romantic and on a lake. It would fit the bill.

Oh sweet! I was trying to decide between there and Roy's since we've never been. I'll run both by DH and see what he thinks but with Seasons 52 being so close I'm thinking it will be the winner.

Plus, there's a Roy's in Jax.  You can go to Roy's whenever you want.

Very good point. DH officially loses his vote. Wink

I love Texas De Brazil!! We are actually going there this weekend for my birthday! It's not so much romantic, but great food!

    Visit The Nest!
  • We're getting a Seasons 52 in Jax this year (at the town center) so I'd try something more unique.  Non-chain restaurants are usually better anyway.  Just my two cents :)
