I bought some drinking glasses at Tulips in Norman today. They were the same glasses that I'd bought four of at On A Whim ($9/glass and 20% off of that) the week before with my mom--I wanted to test a couple before I bought more. So when I saw them at Tulips I decided--oh! Yay! I don't have to go all the way back to OAW! And I bought them. I bought three more, and didn't pay much attention to the price of the glasses. When I looked at my receipt after visiting several stores later across town, I realized they charged me $10/glass.
We went to Occasions in Carriage Plaza and found the same glasses for $7.50/glass.
I paid $7.20/glass at OAW.
I feel like it's crap that they'd be $2.50+ higher than both of the other nice stores that I visited.
Question is, would you call and ask them if they would consider price match? Or let them know how much more they are compared to two other comparable stores?
I would just return them, but they don't do refunds...only store credit. I'm also definitely willing to take this as a lesson learned and keep my mouth shut, as it was MY fault that I didn't look at the price more closely. UGH.
Re: Call or take it as a lesson learned?
Well, is there anything else in the store you had your eye on? If so, I would take them back and use it as an excuse to buy something else.
Otherwise, personally I would probably chalk it up to lesson learned. I don't know that it would have been a big enough deal for me to ask.
