Internet/phone
Hey ladies! I haven't been on here much lately, but I have a quick question for you...
My H and I are days away from getting a closing date on our first house (yay!). I'm researching utilities and would LOVE to dump Time Warner. I'm thinking about switching to Directv, but would need to find another provider for internet and maybe a land line. Any suggestions? We'll still be in Saratoga.

That is too bad because we have had good luck with TWC. We actually just switched our entire office over to TWC and we are saving over $100 a month.

I don't mind Time Warner, but I hate how the bill keeps going up for no reason. One thing I'm going to do before we decide is call them and talk to their Loyalty department to see if they'll negotiate a lower rate. I know it's been done. I just need to try it.
My one hesitation with satellite is how I keep hearing that it can go out when the weather is bad. That would suck.

That stinks! In the office, we signed a 3 year contract, but that is for business class.
I do remember my service going out during wind, ice, rain, and snow, so be careful!
we just got direct tv - and with all the weather- we haven't had an issue...
we kept TWC for internet and phone and its still crazy expensive but we didnt really have a choice...we thought about vonage but I have heard so many bad exeriences with it- we decided against it...
We don't have cable, but i use TWC for both home and office for internet. We had Fios and they sucked. Everything from hiccups to customer service was for the birds.
I have Vonage for my office for phone and haven't had a problem with service. However, when i opened up my office, i wanted them to release the number so i could roll into an all-in-one plan with TWC and they won't release it. Other than that, no issues.
