What Austin-y things haven't you done?
I've never been to ACL or SXSW - I feel like I should one year just to prove a point!
Re: What Austin-y things haven't you done?
Never been to either of those, but I am going to SXSW this year.
I've never been to Kerby Lane. I've lived here for 20 years....
Blasphemy! It's pretty delicious - especially the pancakes and cowboy queso. Pumpkin are my favorite, but they're only there in the fall usually, and the apple whole wheat are a close second.
Yeah, I know....it's insane...
I have been asking DH every weekend if we can make a point to go to the greenbelt (off 360/mopac). I really just want to check it out.
Shamefully, I don't have much interest in sxsw.

I haven't done SXSW yet, probably never will. I don't know if this is "Austin-y", but I've never been to the top of the tower. I've probably done most Austin-y things, but only once.
Oh, and Kerbey is overrated. ;-)

I went to SXSW one year; I've never done ACL.
The greenbelt is totally worth it once it gets more water - it's not so pretty when it's all dried up.
And I also think Kerby is overrated. The wait on a saturday morning is over an hour! yuck! I'll go to Pancake House or Magnolia Cafe instead (better pancakes anyways).
I prefer Magnolia Cafe to Kerby.
I've never done SXSW and probably never will. It just doesn't appeal to me. I've never done ACL, but I'd like to at least once or for one day.
I've never been to the Oasis or Zilker Kite Festival or Eeyore's Birthday Party.
Never been to Greenbelt.
Bats, we went one day in August 4-5 years ago and took MIL from OOT, waited for 2 hours, all the photogs started to pack up their gear and go and we reallized it was over!! We saw maybe two bats!!! Total embarrasement!!
Mount Bonnel, I went with a friend just as I was moving away from Austin, DH's never been.
That area is really nice after a few rains in the spring when the waterfalls are going.
I haven't been to ACL or SXSW either.

We did the bats one year. I'll never forget our boat guide as we sailed along under the bridge saying "You feel that water? Remember: It doesn't rain under bridges."

I think a lot of the Austin-y things are good to do with OOT friends and family when they come to visit. The bats are a good example.
I think the one Austin-y thing I haven't done is rented a kayak on Town Lake. DH has always kind of wanted to do that.
The kayak (or canoe) is so fun! We do it every summer and last summer our friends brought their dogs on the boat. I love doing that!
