trip to the doc

I got a paniced phone call from Don just after 2pm...he stepped off his truck tailgate wrong and twisted his ankle...he thought it was broken.  So I left work and met him at the doctors.  After several xrays and 2 hrs spent at the doctors...the softball size knot on the side of his ankle was just because of a bad sprain.  Thank goodness!  He's got crutches, vicodin, prescriptive motrin, ace bandate, and a foam cast...he's out of work for a few days since he has to be off his feet.  Once we goes back to work he can only do "light work" for a few weeks, which will be hard since he delivers washers and dryers.  Very interesting afternoon!

Oh my gosh!  Glad it's not broken, but that still stinks.  Hope Don feels better soon!

  • Oh Jen, sorry to hear about that.  Look on the bright side, at least you'll have Don to yourself for a few days.  Might be a good time to call in sick for a few days Stick out tongue.

  • That's totally sucky.  At least if it happened on the job Work Comp should take care of the bills.  Glad it's only a sprain.  I agree with deb - take a couple of days of to 'nurse' him back to health Wink
Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker For two people in a marriage to live together day after day is unquestionably the one miracle the Vatican has overlooked. PersonalMilestone
  • oh sister, i know what that is like!  gerren was ran over at work (thought he broke his leg, but didnt) in NOVEMBER and he is STILL in pain from it and seeing specialists!  at least workman's comp is covering it and at least don's ankle isn't broken!  tell him to enjoy taking a few days rest (and a few pills!) and take advantage of it :)
  • Yeah, if it was going to happen I'm so glad it happened at work!  Workers Comp is paying for everything.  I'm here at work today...since he's going back to work tomorrow "light duty" he wanted to have to be home alone today so he's made to get up and move around w/ his crutches, which I can understand.  I was ready to take the day off, but he insisted so I didn't push the subject.  At least he'll have the weekend off to rest and relax!!!
