Hey Girls! Got a question for you.
DH and I are trying to think of our next "In state" road trip. We'd have to be able to leave either early Sat. or Late Friday and be home Sunday night (By 9p i would prefer b/c I start work at 4:15am)
We already did Roswell/Carlsbad (which i LOVED) We want to go West we are thinking... anything fun out to the west we need to see????
THANKS!!
Re: Hey Girls! Got a question for you.
Thanks!! we' went to Toas in Jan for work so DH and I had some time to explore! I will tell him about the others!!
We just like the chance to explore the new area! Who knows how long we will live here
You could do the Trail of the ancients that goes from Grants down through Zuni and Ramah and ends on the Navajo Reservation/Gallup. You could head out to Grants Fri night and go out to Mt Taylor Sat morning. Then drive along the trail and stop at La Ventana Arch, El Malpais National Monument, El Morro National Monument, and end up in Ramah for Sat night. Drive up through the Zunis to Gallup on Sunday and come home.
Another idea is doing Jemez Canyon on a weekend. You could go up to Los Alamos and catch NM4 by Valles Caldera. Then come down through Jemez Springs/Ponderosa. There are some cute B&B in Jemez Springs and the actual springs are great. Then come back to ABQ via 550 and stop in Corrales for an Sun afternoon.
Ditto the B&Bs in Jemez Springs!!
