Recommend your convertible car seat for compact car.

DH has a 4 door Honda Civic.  What convertible carseat would you recommend for a smaller car.  I know some are really bulky.  Thanks.

Re: Recommend your convertible car seat for compact car.

  • I'd say go to BRU (or wherever) and try out seats. In DH's truck, we had an evenflo, very basic, but it fit RF & FF.

I had 2 britax marathons (FF for the twins) in my civic but they were bulky and I don't think they'd have fit RF, but I never tried

  • Definitely go try them out. I have Evenflo Triumph seats that fit DH's pilot backseat (believe it or not there is NOT a lot of room in that stupid huge car for RFing car seats. crazy.).

I have no problem with my recaro or the britax marathons (though, I did buy a roundabout for N) in my CR-V rf'ing. I can't believe that the pilot would! Silly honda!

  • I have a CRV, DH has a Pilot - CR-V fits every seat, but the pilot has trouble with even the infant seat barely fitting in the middle without having to move the front seats way up! SILLY!

  • I have a 4-door civic and we're using the Britax Roundabout and it fits fine!  There sure isn't a whole lot of room back there though, especially when you have a car seat in the other side too!!
  • I have a 4dr honda civic and the Britax Roundabout 55 fits great, we still have it rear facing so the passenger front seat needs to be up a little farther than we'd like when there is a passenger in the car, but for FF I'm sure it will be a great fit.

  • We have a Britax Roundabout in our Honda Fit.  It fits well, leaves sufficient room behind the driver's seat and on the rest of the backseat.
