What would your reward be?
I'm getting the ball rolling on taking the ARE over the next few months to a year (architecture registration exam). There are 7 tests total. Someone recommended picking a reward you give yourself after taking each test. This is not going to be a fun process and will involve lots of studying...I'm thinking an hour massage after each test sounds heavenly!
What would your reward to yourself be?

Judging
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.
Massage!! I don't get them often so that's something I'd totally reward myself with.

Splurge at a nice dinner place, somewhere you don't typically go. This would be nice to reward both you and your DH especially if the studying takes away a lot of your time together. Thank him for his support/appreciation.
Buy yourself a new outfit
New shoes
I should mention DH will be doing the exact same thing at the same time.
And I will definitely be taking breaks between the tests - that's a given.
Hmmmm. That is a good idea. I'd be afraid I'd get hooked on the idea though and not want to stop!
DH thinks his reward will be a new bike.
This!!!
Or maybe a dog walker for when you need to study and don't have time?
I would go for a massage though.
If it was both H and me, I would take a trip! I know how hard it's going to be though, so maybe I'm biased
I plan on throwing myself a party and buying something rediculous like a purse or clothing I really don't need.

PS I'm jealous that you have a live-in study buddy.
H and I took a class together in college (some lame easy general) and only really had to study for the final ,but it was fun studying with him. I figured if I had to be studying at least I could hang out with him, too.

It's either going to be really awesome OR we're going to drive each other crazy. :-)
We took all the same classes together in college and never studied together. I usually like to study all by myself. We'll see though - I think I forgot how to study and maybe could use some help, haha!
We're hoping to take a really big trip for our 5 year annivesary in October of 2012. I really hope we're both all done with our tests by then - that is 1.5 years away.
I just don't know which test to take first. Start easy? Start hard? Taking the first step and just signing up for a test is proving challenging!
I think I want to take all the graphic tests together so you can practice using their lame program all at once. Other then that I tend to be a get the worst out of the way first, but that would mean structures to me, and I think just getting used to the format and for me, test anxiety again, might not be best for the harder ones.
I should ask my co-worker who has passed all his but isn't done with IDP. I still hate him - and I tell him often
