Another supercool allergy!
As I've mentioned, I've discovered some of the most random allergies since being pregnant.
1. lanolin
2. mango
3. cinnamon flavoring (but not real cinnamon)
4. Now presenting.... The adhesive on band-aids!
Went to the Dr. this morning for a blood draw. Got 3 band-aids and then six very inflamed, itchy, burning, welty spots afterward.
How crazy is that!?!? (pics in my blog)
What nutty things are you allergic to?

My dad is allergic to some IV tubing & medical wristbands.
I wouldn't call it an actual allergy, but this pregnancy I can't eat bananas. I've tried twice and both times ended up in so much pain I thought I was having contractions (sounds bad, but I wasn't sure if it was tummy or ute because it was ALL OVER). I actually had to call DH home the first time because I couldn't stand up straight. So completely random! I ate a banana basically every day throughout my pregnancy with Sophia and had no problems.
Ouch! Let's hope it was a fluke
I don't have any allergies, knock on wood.
I remember a classmate in college telling me her boyfriend was allergic to latex and I was like "oh girl, that's the oldest line in the book!"
Maybe he was, but I was skeptical.

I have a similar problem with the adhesive on some band-aids. not all brands, just some. It's a horrible itching, for days!!! MIF's never bothered me, but the Shrek ones we had were an issue, and DH kept using them on my progesterone shot sites. I just assumed it was the p17, but we just ran out and switched, and the last 2 shots have not itched nearly so much!!! So you might see if it's only some brands. I noticed it last pg as well-when I had to cover a bug bite with a bandaid to prevent my shirt from rubbing it. The darn bandaid left a bigger welt than the bug bite!
God luck though, as there's a blood draw with each u/s! Maybe see if they can just put medical tape over the cotton ball next time. Hope the reaction goes away fast!
THIS! I'm allergic to latex, when I got my BC put in (Implanon) they covered the hole with a bandaid and sure enough! it was a bandaid with latex in it, I had some REALLY pretty marks on my arm for a long while! My H is too. We have to use non-latex balloons. And at the hostpial I have to tell them no latex gloves.
ETA-It's hard to find non-latex condoms LOL
OH and spider bites! WOW they get UGLY, have been hospitalized with them too!
I don't have any allergies, but when I delivered Ava, I apparently had a reaction to the tape they used on the epidural. I don't know because I couldn't see it, but the nurses seemed a little surprised.
DH is allergic to dried fruit--the sulfites in it. We discoverd this the last time he ate it. Now I'm afraid to try it with Harper.
I'm allergic to cold temperature... I only wish I was kidding. It's called Cold Urticaria and I discovered I had it when I was a freshman at ISU. I carry an epi pen with me and take zyrtec in the winter. If I hold a cold can of pop my hand swells, ice cream cones my lips and tongue swell, being outside in the winter - can't do it for very long. It's pretty annoying.

Funny you say that. My mom and I both are allergic to the adhesive on bandaids. Mine will leave a rash in the shape of the bandaid and hurt like a sun burn.
My other one is Peanut Butter. Not nut or peanut oil but peanut butter will give me massive headaches. So I am not sure I would go as far as to say allergic. I some times crave it so much that I will eat it and deal with the headache later.
ik not the smartest idea.
Apparently I am allergic to my scrubs, lol. I have a top that makes my entire upper body break out into a rash each time I wear it. Of course, I keep forgetting about it until I've been wearing it at work all night. I don't know what it is, it has been washed several times and I've never had trouble with any other scrub tops.
And Bengay makes me pass out. Technically not an allergy but its pretty strange. I don't even have to be using it myself, just the smell of it will do it to me.
