So awful about the earthquake in Japan. Ebonie, I know you have family in Hawaii- thinking of you guys!!!
Meghann-Not sure if any you are impacted by the Tsunami warnings being in SoCal, but stay safe!!!
I've emailed my childhood friend who lives in/is from Japan just hoping I hear something from her at some point...
Kristen, you heard from YH right? He's ok? Did it impact China at all?
ETA: 2 years ago when H and I were in Fiji during our HM, Tonga had a Volcanic Eruption and Fiji had a Tsunami warning (as did other places/Australia/NZ, etc)...The Fijian people were so laissez-faire about it. Kids went to school, Men were on fishing boats for work....meanwhile we saw black ash from a volcano on our beach at our villa...
Re: Tsunami Warnings/Earthquakes
so sad. it's been on the radio all morning. hope everyone and their loved ones are safe!
and that's crazy about what happened in fiji, jax!
How did I not know you went to Fiji for your honeymoon?
I'm so insanely jealous, my coworker leaves for Fiji tomorrow and got a great group deal ($3k a person).
I'm having dreams of Fiji.
I have NO idea. I have tons of photos I put up on FB.
For instance:
Thank you for taking me to my happy place.
Okay, so, we're fine. I didn't know anything about this whole thing until I checked Facebook this morning. It looks like they are expecting waves to hit the West Coast sometime before lunch. I'm sort of watching the news, but I'm at work, so I can't just sit and stare at the TV.
And, one of the guys I work with said we might get big waves sometime before 9am. I have no real idea what's going on.
They just said on the news that you don't need to worry if you live on a cliff (like my in-laws), but more if you live in low lying areas. I'll let you know if I hear anything crazy.
Isn't that so sad?! I'm glad Hawaii is okay and it's looking like Cali will be minimally affected too!
Yes, Bryan is okay thank goodness!!! I found out at 5 am when I was feeding Margot and sent him an e-mail. He said China has not been affected. All of this reminded me that we still not to take out more life insurance on DH - awful to think about, but totally necessary.
I have a friend in Hawaii, and she said it was pretty crazy! They had to evacuate and move to higher ground, but I guess they didn't get the big waves like they thought they would.
I spent an hour looking at pictures of the destruction in Japan today. So sad. I wouldn't even know where to start with cleanup, etc.
